Unit Mecha

I was planning on maybe adding some effects to the flash... Although I have the light originating at the top of the spin... Not that it matters a whole lot since I don't need to go in for excessive realism for a unit that doesn't exist :)

The chain mecha looks awesome. I agree that some flame or fire should shoot out of one of the barrels to go with the flash effect (which is also awesome :) ). I also think it should have at least some spot for Civ colors, to make it a more versatile unit for everyone to use. Great job!

A veritech fighter would be pretty sweet. It's default and defense mode could be the humanoid mode, it's attack could be the half fighter/half humanoid mode (forgot what they called it), and it's move could be the fighter mode.

I'll look into it... no promises, but I'll check it out :)

Kinboat,

I imagine that the Veritech would be one of the most difficult units to do because of it's three modes: Fighter, Battloid and ... like Ed O'War, I can't remember what it was called mode.

I'm just looking for an advanced fighter to place in a future age. The Veritech would be awesome but I think it would require a lot of work.

how about having default and defense in the "guardian" mode, have battloid mode for attack, and have fighter mode for bombing runs? obviously to go bombing around, you would want max speed right (i.e. fighter mode)? attack mode would just be nice to have it in battloid mode...guardian implies defense, so why not have it for defense purposes?...

nehow, kinboat! so are you gonna make a veritech unit? :D
i hope you will; it's really hard work--but i would love to see it in action.

Once I've made the model it wouldn't be any harder than any other unit (I can make the 3d model so that it transforms with just a few mouse clicks)... That said it will be harder than my planes for instance just because it's a little more complicated to work in the transformation....after that its just tedious rendering and fixing the shadows... Still not promising I'll do it :) But I will probably give it a try... I seem to recall my brother had a model of it that changed form (would really help if I could find that) If someone out there has a gif animation or a short movie on their computer of this thing transforming it would really help me work out the sequence, and how it moves... As I keep typing this it seems that I'm resigning myself to trying to make one. :)

Ok... here is a rough preview of a Veritech Fighter. Very rough... colors and stuff not finished, and I need to work more on the Mecha mode.

That Mech thing would be SOOOOOOOOO awesome. You can do that halfway thing that's special for that mech and it's be pretty sweet. But with that gatling mech I get an error. I guess it's just me but it crashes my game. Oh well. It's still cool!

Kinboat,

How did you do that so fast? That's amazing!

leonel,

A unit crashing the game is usually a sign that you have mis-spelled a folder, ini file, or something in the bic file. Check all of that to make sure it's correct.

Yeah, double chech the spelling... make sure the Folder and INI file are called the same thing as the unit in the game... spaces and everthing... If it's still happening I'll take a look at the FLC files.

Kinboat,

I've used the Gatling Mech without any problems.

Oh. OH!!!!! I see now! I remember just changing the folder names only instead of changing the folder and the files inside. Silly me. :P

nice basic models! :D

It's gonna be lovely...with a talented person doing the unit, it's just gonna be the best mecha unit out yet!

p.s. are you doing a guardian mode as well

oh cool! are you making VF-1 Super Veritech "Valkyrie" or VF-1 Strike Veritech "Valkyrie" instead of the the normal VF-1 veritech fighter? that would be much more cool :D

VF11earth.jpg

above is the picture of VF-11 Thunderbolt...yours sorta looks like it....which one are you doing again?:crazyeye:

hey, i know i'm asking for a lot, but you think you can may be vary the basic model and do the following one? here is a link for what i'm talking about

http://www.steelfalcon.com/Macross/vf19.shtml

neways, this page has excellent designs of all three modes (you just gotta scroll a bit to see all three) that might help you out more...if you are not inclined to make this unit, then oh well...you an still make use of that site to find the model for the one you are currently making to fine tune the graphics! :goodjob:
