Unit pack: WWII paratroopers, 15 Jan 2005

I forgot what they were for back then. When i was in we didn't have them. lol. Before i became a Green Beret. lol.

U might be right on that Steph.

Here is the new preview. I'm much more satisfied with it, there are only some little adjustments to be made (for example how he holds the weapon), but overall I think it is ready for "production" now....

Now thats what i call a top notch 82nd/101st AB unit Bebro.

Yeah - I never saw anything during my searches :( maybe Russian WWII paras are a myth :D ;)

I know they aren't a myth ;) But good pics of them are sooo hard to find. The link you gave seems to have no pics of them either?

I'm wondering if they dressed liked th regular infantry or smth. Because i'm not finding any pics either. Also i know they had them as well, But did they use them enough to make a diff. like the Brits and US did. ??????????

The promised version with camo pattern is out now and can be dl-ed from the first post. The old (plain green) version is still available too. Animations are identical, just the new one has a uniform with camo pattern, the older one not. Therefore I don't post another animated preview....;)

About Russian Paratroopers:

In the Movie The Last Emperor there is a brief scene when Russian Paratroopers invade Machukoa (Manchuria) I don't know if they were accurate, but they wore lightr brown uniforms and were equipped with a Burp Gun.

Maybe the russian paratrooper could look like this. But this is a russian Commando :)

Just a little progress report: I'm a bit busy now with writing stuff for my studies, so I still need some time for the us para, therefore release is probably not before next weekend.

The new US para looks good but shouldn't the M1 Carbine have a shorter, straighter magazine?

You are correct when you mean the standard 15-round mag, but I read the M1A1 could also be used with those curved mags holding 30 rounds each. I also saw pics of these, and decided to use them, because I think it looks better, and on civ size the smaller mag could be reduced so much that it is hardly to spot anymore....;)

I may be a little late to enter the discussion, but what about Polish paratroopers? They played a part in the Allied attack in Operation Market Garden.. Though I realize most of their equipment was probably provided by the UK and US, a little color differentiation would work well in determining one unit from another.

Just my 2 cents.

You rightely stated it: The Free Polish wore British uniforms, helmets and berrets (no colour differenciation from other British formations in those)
