I already pointed that out in the first post, but the AoE conversion is very bad, its defaulst animation is to jumpy as Nder said. Also it is very unrealistic, since the armor(both horse and rider) and the weapon are wrong.

I personally like the cataphract unit from AOK, i plyed that game alot befor ei played this. BTW, what would you use it for?

I'm no fan of the AoE units either, they look different & bigger then the civ units. If you put the (winged) Hussar next to the cossack, you get a weird view..well you know what i mean.

I actually use the Chinese Rider unit as a Cataphract, and give the Chinese a crossbow-type unit as their UU

I dont like that sullution, the Rider doesnt look much like a Cataphract to me.

Close to what I do, they get the Chu Ko Nu, and the Rider is used as knight for those civs that never had knights. If you see what I mean

I was trying to steer away from horse units a little but I think I'll try this one... I think I'll try the one in your third post, partly because it doesn't have a cloak and then I think it looks the most unique, to distinquish it from other knight type units.
