:thanx:

Pounder,

The whole point to a minefield is to restrict or at least greatly slow an attacker's movement. They are worthless as a military tactic/asset unless they are covered by your own units. SOP is at least one automatic weapon to cover an anti personal mine obstacle, and at least one anti-tank weapon to cover an anti-tank mine obstacle.

In game terms, just use a baricade. Otherwise you may walk over your own mines.

I guess you wouldn't want to trigger an unwanted war as a friendly crossed some perimeter you set up. I'll stick to sentries.

We desparately need a Highland Warrior for a Scottish UU. I don't mean the highland swordsman of Braveheart and the like (already made), but the musketmen of the late 17th and early 18th century famous for the "Highland Charge", a tactic only ever defeated once, at the Battle of Culloden Moor (1746), the last ever land battle on British soil.

The origins of the tactic probably come in the 30 YEars War, where between 30, 000 and 60, 000 Scottish mercenaries fought for either Sweden, France or the Empire; it evolved during the ENglish Civil War and Scottish clans war thereafter, and came to fruition in the two Jacobite rebellions of 1715 and 1745, where they enjoyed more than half a dozen victories over the British army before a singular defeat recked the cause.

The tactic was a round of musket fire, followed abrubtly by a barbarian style infantry charge. The UU would prolly replace the musketman, higher offence/lesser defence, with 2 moves (instead of one) and a blitz function.

I'm hoping to see if I can get someone to do some units for me from 2 universes.

The First is Spelljammer, more specifically these three ships:
Warbird.jpg
Nautiloid.jpg
dspider.jpg
The first two are illustrations from the game. The last one is a 3d Model someone did of it.

The next universe is Warmachine...
Warmachine Illustrations Warmachine is set in the Iron Kindgom D20 game universe. Steam and magick powers mecha. What's not to like? :)

I'm Working On a Coldwar turned Hot scenario and i need some russian utility Choppers, like a sikorski, I have the HInd but its more of an attack chopper then a real tranport

Think that this unit would be great for all, not just the Danes :) :)

:)
Have a nice day

Ace,

The A-10 was designed with that in mind.

The main weapon is a 30mm gatling gun firing AP ammo. The pilot is in an armoured cockpit, along with much of the avionics. The engines are at the rear of the fuselage to shield them from ground fire and the flight profile is NOE - Nap of the Earth.

The usual attack profile was to have an AWACS or Raven F-111 locate the ZSU-23's targetting radar, then send in an A-10 at treetop level. 1 second burst from the gatling gun or a Maverick AT missle at longer ranges, and you have one ZSU 23 a la Swiss Cheese.

I kept thinking that Canada should have bought a couple of squadrons' worth back in the 70's when we still had a base in Germany. The A-10's would have been much better for attacking ground targets than the converted CF-105 Starfighters. Go figure, Canada was the first to use a supersonic aircraft for ground attack.

But the Russians definitely need them for modern AAA to move with their armoured units. Soviet tactical doctrine had each armour company having 2 of them. Been 20 years since I read about that kinda stuff so I could be wrong, but the Americans never did get one to work as well as the ZSU...

For anyone who has gotten the unit creation process down:

This is more a question than a request, but I geuss it could go here. Has Kal-El ever posted the Mobile Infantry alone? If not, is it possible to get that unit out of the mod, and how? If he has posted it, a URL would be nice.
