This shouldertop weapon was one of the many innovations the Germans came up with during WWII. It was powerful enough to penetrate and knock out an M-4 Sherman tank!

The Wehrmacht used machine guns extensively throughout the war. The MG-42 was an awe-inspiring weapon with an incredibly high rate of fire: So high, that the sound was one roar; the sound of the individual shots just blended together...

Anybody in the Third Reich Team interested in making these two?

I'm a little bit bored of the default graphics of the Tank unit.
I would like to have a tank in 'typical' ww1 style and a certain feeling tells me such graphics have already been made...:D

Would someone provide a link, please? :)

(Otherwise, this would be a request.)

Go to the first page of the Unit Library and you should find a list of the units in there along with the page they're on. I made a Mark IV, German AV7 and French Renault 17 (or something). I believe Riptide also made a Renault version.

Does anyone know where to find a bronze-age swordsman?

These are some cool idea I had (if not already thought of):
The Terminator
Robocop
Several more Gundams
Jason Vorhees
Final Fantasy X - Sin
All the Characters from War of the Monsters
Transforming things like from Army Tanks to Huge Fighting Mechs

Thats all I can thin of for now...I would make them myself but I dont know how. If anyone will make them, please tell me at maxwillner@aol.com

I've been working on a modest little mod that I'd like to post someday, with a few additions and tweaks here and there in most aspects of the game. The goal is to keep it as polished as possible(you know, full civilopedia, highest quality units, no redundant graphics, etc) while making it generally more enjoyable.

I think there are a few folks around that are hesitant to try some of the more extensive efforts, so something like this might be appreciated.

Anywhoo, while working on the unit additions and changes, there are just some really glaring omissions I'd like to fill, so I'm officially requesting a few units(Keep in mind I have no idea what Conquests will have, so these may be unneeded) -

(In order of need)
1. DRAGOON - An 18th century horseman, armed with a carbine and maybe a sabre for an attackB. Somehow, this unit has continually slipped through the cracks. Surely, some kind and talented soul could give it a try. :)

2. MUSKETMAN - A unit to go between the Civ3 Arquebusier and the Rifleman. I know Dark Sheer made a great one, and I have been using it, but I can't help looking at Kinboat's latest stunning creations and wishing he'd do one. Selfish of me, I know, but I DID get his X-Files-referencing name when no one else did! ;) I'm thinking something pre-Napoleon and pretty generic looking, with less of a 'George Washington' look than Dark Sheer's.

3. EARLY IRON-HULLED STEAM WARSHIP - I hate the Civ3 Ironclad. It's ugly and couldn't survive in deep waters. Smoking Mirror's Steam Frigate is astounding and remains one of the best units ever made, but I think something from a later era would fit better. I know aaglo doesn't think that modern ships have personality, but I'm sure this one could with a little TLC! :) I'm thinking something without masts or a paddle wheel - just some big steam chimneys or whatever. Size-wise, it should be a little bigger than the Ironclad, probably about the same size as the Destroyer.

Okay, those are the three I want the most and can't long live without. :D I'd post some pictures, but really, I don't care that any of them fit any specific historical model, in fact, I'd prefer they didn't, so anyone who finds it in their heart to make 'em can do it however they want. Maybe I'll try and draw them like Kal does - I'm not as good as him, but I'm not too shabby. Is it easier to go from drawings?

I think I might aswell can re-request(or show my support, or whatever you will call it;)) this unit. We need alot of units for the Napoleonic project, this would be very good, since it can form a basic unit for cut and pasting(which is how many of our units will be done).

Oh btw what will your mod feature stone? (like new tech, buildings etc.) Just being curious:)

Hehe.... but that's not modern (era) ship - that belongs to the industrial era :p :crazyeye:

Smoking mirror has already done something like the stonesfan's request:

I'll probably add some new techs for a future version. I think more are definately needed in the Modern Age, and if we ever get the Dragoon and Musket Infantry units, I think the Middle Ages would need tweaked a little. As of now, though, I just changed a few prerequisites and names. For example, "Astronomy" now requires "Invention", because I thought it was odd that you could have cannons on your ships before on the ground. I changed "Gunpowder" to "Firearms" and put a Bombard Cannon in at "Invention". Basically, you discover gunpowder earlier.

I just did some little stuff like that here and there. I have yet to figure out how to add arrows in the tech tree(don't worry - I'll get it, I just haven't researched it yet), so I'm holding off on anything too extensive. ;)

If I add any new buildings, it won't be many. For me, it's kind of a pain to have a lot of improvements to build. I know not every city is supposed to have every improvement, but I think there are enough as it is. I might add some production boosters for the Ancient and Middle Ages, though.

One of the things I think will make it more fun than a normal game is the addition of "No-resource alternate units", or NRAU, for short. :D I don't know if any other mods have them, but basically, it just means that most units that require resources will have a weaker alternative. For example, the alternative to the Footman(Medieval Infantry), which is 4-2-1 and requires iron, is the "Peasant Militia", which is 4-1-1(Swordsmen are 3-2-1, but if you don't have iron, you can hire(well, build:)) "Mercenary Swordsman" who have 3-1-1) but doesn't require anything. I might make them cost a population point, but I haven't experimented with that yet.

I wanted to have it to where you can keep getting better units with techs, but you'd still want to get resources for the bonus stats. Also, if you don't have a certain resource, it's not so frustrating.

I'm doing this at the moment instead of tons of flavor units - but I plan on adding some of those too. They would be for version 2.0.

I don't know - maybe I should start a thread? I don't think the changes are really enough to get anyone worked up.

Well, it's more modern than the ships you usually make! :p

Anyway, I know SM did that awesome early Battleship, but I was thinking of something a little smaller and slightly less powerful looking. :)

I might just use the Steam Frigate as the Ironclad. I don't know where I'd put it in if not there.

Looking for a Mexican cavalry unit from the US-Mexican war.

Was wondering whether there's anybody out there working on these two German WWII airplanes:

Ju-88A-4.jpg

This is a very effective light bomber.

JU52.jpg

This could be used as a transport plane.
