don't you think that we need a ship to fill the gap between the galleon and modern day transports? I do.
In the glory days of sail... there was the Schooner. The backbone of sea travel and commerce in the second half of the 19th century - until the clippers/windjammers came along... wait, now that gives me an idea!
But seriously, I would love for somebody to make a schooner for us, it could serve as a fast industrial merchant ship (yeah, some attack and defense parameters, too) without requiring resources.
Here's a pic of what I'm talking about:
this is a schooner.. like I said, the mainstay of commercial seafaring in the mid-19th century.
And here's the sloop, the even faster, but smaller "younger sister":
Note that the schooner ALWAYS had two masts, while the sloop ALWAYS had one mast only!
