Unit Request x2: Ancient Egyptian Spearman and Khapesh swordsman

Now now, we were reminded, NO nationality jabs, hehe. . . Ofcourse if one of those jabbers comes up with more ancient Egyptian units, all will ofcourse be forgiven.

With the sword man i'm gonna take my Ramses II unit when he's done take of his Crown so i have the bald man from the model and give him a sword and see if i can give him a shieldto match the above picture of the swordman i'm not shore if it'll work. Ramses is the first unit i've attempted.

Loulong do you have any frames for your unit i would like to use the sheild on the spearmean for the khapesh swordsman

But as I wrote before, everything was done by hand so it is not so great and definitely not stable (size and all). I wanted to make a hole in the shield but could not figure out how, so I just replaced it with the black spot. Otherwise feel free to use anything you like.


BTW, I missed your pharaoh last night. Looks nice. More accurate than Cleopatra, in any case

I've nearly finished the Ramses unit i'll start putting a shield on him, giving him a sword and taking his crown tonight i'll post a pic later.

Looking great, Sa Craig! The khapesh is looking very clean. I like using the shield as the civ color. Im anxious to see what poses he can do hehe

You should make the sword slightly longer (the curved bit anyway) becuase it looks like a bent sword or wooden stick on this angle. The rest is great.

It IS supposed to be a "bent" sword, roughly shaped like an invert sickle. Part of the evolution from battle axe to sword. The bend is where the weight delivers the crushing blow. Too much length and it won't be believable as a bronze weapon.

Your model looks fine. It's with the animation that I wish you luck .

Best o' luck, this is a seriously needed unit, filling a huge gap, IMO.

Thanks, at the moment it is strictly Egyptian but if any one can show me examples of other nations war clothes i could do a flavour for each nation.

I can't do this until next week now cause i have to redo the run and death for Ramses onto pcx rather than cut and paste like the others and after that i can't do it in other nations flavours until i finish my exams so if Ramses takes too long i'll have to leave this one until after my exams. lets hope not

actually i got bored of doing the Ramses unit so i did the first 4 parts of the Khapesh default i want comments on each but expecially the second one facing us i thought maybe he should hold his sword across his body cause its not very noticable facing upwards

Looking really good, Sa Craig. My only suggestion would be to give the poor lad a proper headress, for his bald head is liable to get sun scorched hehe.
