Unoffical Offical CFC Minecraft Server -- World 2

Re-exploring the mountains around Minestaff, the border happens to lag-push me off the cliff, an returning to site of my death, I can't get any of my stuff cause it's all barely 3-4 blocks outside the border. When one of the admins (croxis or GB at the point right?) gets online, can I my stuff back (It's gonna disappear in another 5-10 minutes anyways), at least the 64 stacks of glass?

Spoiler :

its not letting me connect to my minecraft account is it just me or are other people having the same problem?

that explains it thanks croxis

Oh sheet, mobs! I can't wait to get back online... And hide... :)

@croxis
- You are upgrading the server, you say? To what? Are the donations complete?
- Also, can you post a link to the external forum in the OP, please? :)

Server hasbveen upgraded from:
512 MB ram
Sharing a machine with 40 virtual servers

to:
768 MB ram
Sharing with 30 virtual servers, increasing our share

I shal add the link back.

Awesome! :D For me and other like me, the people who don't know much about how computers work, what are some of the benefits of this upgrade?

Minecraft.net is back up so you can log in to Minecraft now. I'm just having trouble getting on the server but it's probably my problem (it says "Took too long to log in").

I don't know a lot, but I'm pretty sure RAM determines how much a computer can do at a time. The more you have, the more it can handle, so it should make it faster. The other part about sharing with less people should be obvious. Just like Wi-Fi, if a lot of people are using it, it will be slow.

My problem is connection refused: connect.

More cash is still wanted because then we might be able to get to a 1024 MB (AKA 1GB) virtual server which means more people on at once (, you know you want it)!.

More RAM means we can now have mobs! Sweet!

Minecraft is a ram intensive game, meaning it as a lot in "short term" memory. The larger the world, and the more chunks in use (a world is divided into 16x16x128 chunks), the more memory is needed. Computers have a page file or swap partition on the hard drive to use when memory overflows. Think of this as scribbling something down on a postit note. However it is very slow and has to be put back into ram before it can be used. The server swap is not used as much, meaning faster performance there.

Minecraft is also very i/o hungry. It reads and writes alot to the disk. A lot of virtual server providers lock you into a maximum limit for cpu or hid drive use. The one I use lets you use as much of the machine that is available. So if no one else is using the cpu or hard drive we get access to all 4 cores and full hard drive thouroughput. However if everyone is using it then it is divided evenly. So sharing a server with 30 people gives us more cpu and hard drive speed if the whole machine is under full load.

My stuff glitched and is no longer there :(

You got on? My Minecraft has been been a jerk to me all day since the updated, and when I do get into the game, I can't log in while joining a server. :/

So that's why the server is still online, yet I keep getting "internal client error" errors? Hmm
