Unsure About the Classes

I plan to play in GOTM 22 in a few days. I hear mentions of classes - Predator, Conquest, and Open classes.

Can someone please explain the difference and how you choose? I don't want to download the wrong one for GOTM 22.

(Sorry if this thread seems like a stupid newbie question, but I can't find any explanations easily...)

conquest= for those who find GOTM difficult. You are granted starting advantages to help you out
predator=for those who find the standard GOTM easy..or want a greater challenge. You are somehow handicapped at the start.

When you download the setup files, the associated verbiage/readme will give you the save file locations of all three classes.

I have noticed you playing many succession games and this is fantastic.

I looked in on the game threads for CG8,9, and 10 and this gives me a little perspective of the game skills you have been playing with in those games with other players.

The upcoming game will be as the Vikings and I can remember that once upon a time you had made some attempts to play the GOTM but then I may not have been supportive enough to get you to the successful submission stage. Let me know if there is anything I can do better to cross this threshhold this time.

Gotm22 may be a tough game. I think you may want to keep your options open to play this game at either the Conquest or the Open Class levels. You will have info in the game announcement and then in the pregame discussion thread to help you make the right choice when the time comes. We want to you to feel good about getting a complete game under your belt and we also want you to feel comfortable pushing yourself to the level that you feel gives you the best combination of challenge and fun.

If you have ever submitted a Gotm game that ranked in the top 50%, the Conquest class game will not be a choice for you, but in other cases you may want to consider this game as an option to get you smoothly started with playing and submitting the Gotm games.

Thanks cracker. You didn't drive me away last time, I was simply busy. Now I have nothing to do.

Anyway, if its Emperor, I'll probably try Conquest, if its Monarch, I'll probably try open. I can beat Monarch handily on regular games, but Emperor is a little harder.
