I love so many of the mods on here that cannot be found on the workshop; however, for the ones I download on here and extract (I have to do it manually on my mac), the extractors don't recognize the file type (i.e. "the stuffit Engine was unable to determine the file format". I've tried various ones, and also various unzip extractors and it is only an for me on the website. Perhaps I am missing something :( . This is weird since all the ones on the steam engine work. Please help?

Thanks so much,

If you search this topic on this forum, another user, I think it was Alan H, made an updated plist for keka, an extracting tool that he also links to. The plist makes it recognize .civ5mod files

Welcome, passmsd.

Thanks sam_w. You are correct, the first post in the current top sticky thread in this forum includes a preferences file that you can download to make Keka - my preferred extractor - aware of .civ5mod files. ALternativey, change the file name extension to .7z, as that is the actual file type for these mods.
