I've downloaded the 3D Analyze Tool and I've selected :

- Civ.exe in my Civ folder

then selected the

- emulate TnL (Hardware Limits)

and clicked "RUN"

but then nothing happens... am i doing something wrong?

Anyone familiar with this tool?

Thanks

3d Analyze is a piece of software that intercepts the DirectX OpenGL calls and emulates a harware video card. I cant say it will work for everyone and I got a lot of flak for promoting it in another board so Google it if you are interested.

What I can say is that last December I bought a brand new Dell laptop which was loaded with CPU, RAM and Disk for portable .Net development work between home and office. I was not going to use it for gaming at the time so it was not a big deal. I am now able to run several games that require HW T&L and 64MB memory with my Intel Integrated 32MB Video Card without a decrease in performance. Your results may vary.
Good Luck

Use version 2.26. For some reason, the latest version of 3D Analyzer won't open Civ4 but version 2.26 does. Btw, I only tried testing a few options and opening it, but my computer already runs Civ4 without any problems at all, so I couldn't tell if my options were doing anything significant.

If anyone using an Intel graphics set (like GMA 950) uses 3D Analyzer version 2.26 with Civ4 and can get good results, let us know.

Most Intel graphics, while not having HW support for TnL, they do have software emulation. Thus, 3DAnalyze is not needed for them.
