This is my monarch level game as France modded to Religious/Industrious. 18 turns to my space victory.

My last war ended in 1828. I made an RoP with Egypt and Germany. I have an MPP with Greece, whom my spies tell me anyone would be an idiot to attack.

Egypt landed some infantry on an island of mine. Then attacked the next turn. Of course they died, and I sunk a couple of transports. And of course I have three cities within bombing range which I'll reduce to rubble.

Egypt has no Aluminum. Now I'm in democracy and want to stay there if possible. I already took one of their cities. I've got three nuclear subs heading her way carrying gifts of "Gold" "Frankencense" and "Myrrh" for her. I figure if we could name our A-bombs, I can name my missiles.

I have every single civilization allied against Egypt. If I nuke a couple of her cities, what kind of repercussions can I expect? Should I go ahead and give her those presents? or just eliminate her conventionally?

What would cause the least WW?

If you are the first to use nukes and do so "unprovoked" (i.e. there's no StackofDoom in your territory) most civs may declare war on you! So beware!!!!

ive nuked people before and they havent seemed to bothered

then again i do play at regent and i was twice as powerful as everyone alse

OK, then maybe the others didn't have nukes yet? or didn't find time to deploy them if it wasn't ICBMs?????

yeh noone had built nukes they all new the tech but it was only tactical nukes which they had and only a few of them had uranium in there territory where as i had over 30 ICBM's

Okay, so I'll move a couple of transports to my nearest coastal cities and load my modern armor armies on them and let Egypt just deal with it.

Also now may be a good time to hold a UN vote. Every civ is polite with me and has a military alliance with me vs the Egyptians. I've never violated any trade agreement or broke any trade or diplomatic agreement, nor have abused any diplomatic agreement. Nor have I betrayed anyone by making a trade embargo against anyone who is still alive.

I just wish you could do ask for a trade embargo, and include the resource the civ is currently getting from proposed embargoed civ and if you can beat the current price by 1 gpt, they'll accept it. Especially if they have been at war with that civ in the past.

remeber to send n escort with the transports just incase

Can you spell Battleships? Sure. I knew you could. ;)

And I have bombers based well within striking range of the invasion sight, and fighters whose air superiority is also within range.

And those nuclear subs will be around just in case there's any hanky panky happening.

also if you have a spy you could just check out where all the egyptian troops are just to make sure you wont run into any of them

Why bother spending 2900 gold to get troop locations when you can upgrade 40 tanks to modern armor for a lot less, especially when you can recon 75% of the continent with fighters?

Persia had landed, Greece had landed, Rome had landed, and Germany was getting there. I took Elephantine, and Egypt dropped a couple of huge SoDs of Mech Infantry and Infantry right in my new territory. I had about 5 modern armor holding Elephantine.

At this point, the UN vote came up. I thought WTH and went for it and got elected by a 4-1 margin with one abstaining (Egypt). Then played a couple of turns.

I reconned to make sure no friendly units were around ground zero. Delivered "Gold" to Thebes (ICBM) and knocked it from size 30 to size 15. One mech infantry survived. I hit the SoDs with "Frankencense" (ICBM), and knocked the SoDs down to 5 units all in red. "Myrrh" got delivered to Alexandria (Tactical). All in all 80% of Egypt's forces were eliminated in the strike. My allies went to gracious and we proceeded to carve up the remains. The AI took forever to take the rest of the place. I took one more city to get Ivory, then sat back and watched before launching my spaceship.

My people all went to WLTSD after the nukes. Blood thirsty bunch.

By the way, Xerses came through with the steel chair shot again by giving me 500 gpt in exchange for Ecology which allowed me to increase science to 90% and entertainment to 10% for the war. I think he and Joan have something going on.
