Is the Japanese UHV supposed to be different? Because for me It's the same (both for 3000 and 600 starts)

It is different for me.

Did the installation got screwed for all of you guys or what?

It's working fine for me now. So far so good, just surprised Mediolanum doesn't spawn, interesting. It looks like we'll really have to change our strategies with this update.

anti-sarko, are you french? i think we have to keep our politic opigion for us in this forum even if me too i don't really like sarko.

Yes I'm French. I disagree with you for reasons I won't develop here I think it's important not to have censorship on this forum and on the internet in general. Besides, I don't think I usually discuss politics here.
Just for the observation, do you think political compass should be banned on this site? Quite a lot of posters use them and they certainly express a political opinion.

Rome is much harder, no time for wonders. Mediolanum does spawn, but only if you don't approach it. They got no new units, and Carthage is almost impossible to kill now since they have many, many more units. The only good thing is that Greece sometimes builds Neapolis (where Canusium is) and so it will flip to you, but it's only happened to me 1 out of 4 times, mostly they build Sparte and Epidamnos.

Rome definitely got short shrift in this version.

It works fine for me, the only thing I'm unhappy about is how I can't modify the 3000 BC map for the info is all crammed together. The scenarios load just fine, I just can't change any terrain info or add/remove resources.

I tried pasting the first four lines of the code here for reference material, but I found out it would have turned out just the way it's supposed to look like: automatically separated on different rows. Posting the info wouldn't have helped one bit.

EDIT:
Actually, never mind. If you guys have this problem too, just open a new CivFanatics forum reply window, enter the scenario's information here and then copy-paste it back to the 3000 BC/600 AD file. Worked like a charm for me and everything turned out auto-rowed.

Hmm, I know Rhye tried to balance things out, now that the first half is longer, with Rome. But I think he took it too far. Carthage is just too powerful now, and it is a real struggle to take it. I can't get the original Roman empire, east and west, by 500AD anymore. I might have to do something different.

Also due to the epic barbarians, the Europeans usually get a huge army automatically when they spawn. That makes it harder as Rome--you could say, you're probably doomed--but it's a blast if you're France, Germany, or Spain. In my last game as Germany, I had 8 free horse archers!

After all I find that not having Mediolanum isn't such a bad thing for Rome as Antium/Pisae is a great spot for your capital city.
Also I'm not sure Rome is much harder if you don't go for UHV, as long as you don't attack Carthage, easily take Greece with your pretorians, beeline to Theology and BUILD THE GREAT WALL, then it's an easy win. I've just been playing for a couple of hours and by 1280 Rome's score is more than double the other civs', Rome's built almost all the wonders and is by far the tech leader. That's in monarch of course.

By the way the mod really IS much faster.

Are the new UHV conditions shown where you pick your civ? The Babylonians still have 86 turns to win, the Americans start in 1733, the Japanese, Portuguese, and Mongolian UHVs have NOT changed, and neither has the Turkish (still 3 cities). I've downloaded and reinstalled this four times already, with nothing is different. Is it only when you enter the game and read the Civilopedia that the changes are shown? What am I doing wrong?

Did you delete your "Rhye's and Fall of Civilization" folder before you unpacked the download of the new patch? Personally, I just renamed it to "Rhye's and Fall of Civilization OLD" and then extracted the zip of v1.182.

It works just fine for me. The Japanese UHV has changed for instance.

Of course, if you don't go for the UHV, Rome can't be beat because it has early access to the rest of Europe. (In fact the Empty Europe lemma probably still applies). It's only if you want your UHV or at least 2/3 UHV to boost your world domination/conquest that make it difficult.

Pisae unfortunately (like Canusium) doesn't have a river running through it so can't build a levee later on.

stronger Carthage might be because of a side effect of the invisible continent line, mentioned in the feedback thread.
If there's any UHV that has problems, I'll make a corrective patch, it's something I can do quickly. In fact, I wanted the patch tested to avoid this, but it may have not been enough.
In fact, the new timeline messed everything up and something wrong may happen. However, do you like the longer Classical era? I recall that it was one of the most common criticisms about RFC.

try downloading from another computer?

Just done this on a Mac: the files are all there, so all I have to do now is transfer them to my games machine. After I get to 1500 AD in my "personalized game" that is...

Stupid Microsoft machines/software. Why do people put up with them...

Cheers, Luke

Just a suggestion: If the classical civs start with 2 workers, how about giving the ancient civs 1 worker and keep the research rate the same for now? (This might help India and Babylon get to their goals)

Brilliant, just back from holiday (in India no less so I'm NOT making an attempt at India) and we've a new patch. Excellent seiries of improvements, just going to finish trying to make Babylon a modern age superpower (fat chance) and when I'm finally creamed will download the new patch.

Thanks again Rhye.

Well, good luck with or without the new patch, since now there are barb horse archers appearing around turn 50 NE of Babili. (Completely impossible IMHO)
