I downloaded it but now the game crashes when I try to load the mod. What could be wrong??

did you update to BTS 3.17?

OK, I've downloaded the file to my desktop, but I can't open it (i.e. the zipped folder)...

Windows XP is supposed to be able to open such beasties automatically with a double click...

Well, I tried using the "open" function instead of the simple download to desktop. This succeeds in getting a folder I can open, but it just contains a bunch of nested folders, ending in... nothing. No files at all.

I've tried everything I can think of now, and still no joy. It purports to be a 37.7 MB file when downloading, and takes a a couple of minutes or so to download, so has to be in the multi-MB range, but it just comes up as nothing.

Veeerrry frustrating.

Windows XP. Japanese version, so I'm a bit clueless about it. The wife noticed my distress, and tried an unpacking program; she pronounced the downloaded folder "empty, or if not empty, corrupted".

Run an American start test, just for testing.

1) The AI colonization is great. Even with France getting dogpiled and divided between Spain and Germany and Portugal getting conquered by Spain (which is uber-cool - yay effective AI-AI wars!) there was much more colonization then I've recently seen. Thanks!

2) The Statue of Liberty was already built in Kyoto, or whatever it's called now, with that werid "u". Kyuoyuouto FTW.

3) Manila tile is still jungled. Grr. On the plus side, the Miami tile is finally not.

Because I'm in Japan, and that's the way they come here Of course, my wife is Japanese, so it's not as if she doesn't mind. (It may be a Civ machine to me; to her it's a movie download machine...)
