V24 Bugs/crashes reporting thread

SVN from this afternoon, mod won't load. It gets to Init XML [uncached] and does *something* there for a while then CTD. From both the desktop icon and BTS Load a Mod options.

Sounds like a bad ArtDefine to me, but I'm pretty sure that my new Ornithopter isn't the culprit.

I've got a minidump here from SVN 3077. I'm getting a CTD on loading the mod as well, in the "Loading XML" phase of startup.
 
Here is an interesting CTD. I have auto end turns if no decisions on. If I let things go and press insert to go into the city when the hunting instruction building is finished, change the plot worked to the elephant plot so that gatherers only take 12 instead of 14 turns I get the CTD when I leave the city. If I remove the gatherers and just leave HI so that the auto turn end switches "off" change the plot and add in the gatherers everything is fine.

I am wondering if this is the cause of a number of my CTD's since pressing insert to open a city is often how I stop the auto end turn because I have a decision I want to make.

Edit and now another one I can't get passed. Well I did but it crashed two turns later and this was my last save and now it wont go past it.

This appears to be a bug exactly analogous to the one that DH had yesterday (but in a different but analogous piece of code). Both are in the modular loading and are happening because something has chnaged in the modular structure causing an override that wasn't there before and hitting these (genuine, so I will fix as I find) bugs. DH's was overriding a feature, yours is overriding a bonus.

I should have a fix for this case fairly soon (watch the SVN thread)

Can you point out were in the SVN when you do that, would be nice JFI
 
Just installed Patch 2 and got alot of errors..here some

Tag: UNITCLASS_MERCHANTFLEET in Info class was incorrect

then it goes on with alot of these...?? wtf

game loads but then save format is not compatible...is the patch in your link for this mode right? and you said it's compatible :(

What SVN version is this? According to the minidump it doesn't match the latest SVN DLL (3071), and I can't interpret the minidump without knowing...

Heres what is supposed to be:

Save the MAIN folder (Caceman2Cosmos)ok, delete everything INSIDE of it v 23. Place v 24 INSIDE of the main folder, then do a complete override of caveman2Cosmos for the patches.
 
Ok , only one question left ,if you please answer :)

I'm redownloading now v24 then i will apply the patch BUT ..I usually change a couple xml files increasing/decreasing some values to fit my gameplay preferences. I believe latest errors might be related to some changes made in the xml files ?

These are the files I make changes to ,only the XML folder.
CIV4BonusInfos small health/hapiness/ output changes
CIV4FeatureInfos make possible to walk/build on ice and +1 food, increase tools/food on forest/jungle
CIV4ImprovementInfos increase pillage gold / increase in all improvements resource output
gamespeedinfo lower/increased some values for eternity speed
CIV4SpecialistInfos increase output for all types
CIV4UnitInfos double iairRange value for every unit with over 2 range.
CIV4EventInfos increased pop death for blackdeath and smallpox events
GlobalDefines change nuke values to 90 for damage on buildings/people/ fallout prob
CIV4EspionageMissionInfo triple cost points , increase/poison/unhapiness debuff
CIV4CorporationInfo double upkeep / triple bonuses
CIV4ProjectInfo increase cost@health bonuses and nuke interception values.

I had no errors and ctd's so far before the patch, with over 600 turns.
 
Ok so definitely the errors I get are from the modified xml files; applied the patch and game loads ok but when I make the changes, errors are back again. Without the patch,every change works fine :( Odd...as this patch doesn't override any of modified files
going to test them one by one
