Version 2.7 discussion

A small bug I noticed:
The Agora building requires the Democracy civic to be built. Democracy is available with Representative Democracy. This much too late, because Agora obsoletes with Leadership, ergo much earlier.
Maybe you could move Agora to Republic civic?

Democracy is available with Democracy. Thats a classical tech, close to writing I think (you can get it with oracle slingshot sometimes). At least in 2.7test1 - don't know if this was changed in 2.7test2 ---
 
When do we get to have a look at the 3.19 compatable version of 2.7? Gimme gimme gimme.:cry: i want to see the new version.

Just dropping here to say that I got now RoM version which works in BtS 3.19 - and now off to enjoy the nightless night as we say here (midsummer festivals).

i am sacrificing one hundred goats in honor of this glorious achievement! :deadhorse:

when will it be released... I am beggin u to release it as soon as possible. after upgrading to 3.19 bts, i have not touched my civ4 for 2 weeks. :please:
 
I'd recommend marathon speed and Immortal AI for decent AI performance. Some of them will still be ********, but the one's starting on rivers will do decently for a while. They still struggle mightily mid to late game, even on Deity.

Also, don't build more than 4 cities before the civics that let you turn off the huge #/distance of cities penalty, primarily Monarchy. In this sense RoM resembles CivIII and getting out of despotism.

That sucks though, I LOVE the concepts behind the mod and everything but whats the fun in playing against the computer when they really don't even play at all.

Maybe I just suck, but I have found Noble AI competent enough most of the time. Admittedly, if I play an industrious leader and start near stone, getting the early wonders (all of them) makes the game significantly easier. However, my builder ways sometimes leave my military lacking and I have lost games to AI attacks, particularly rushes.

But I just wish that when I took the pyramids from the enemy, I got my granaries. Many conquered wonders feel like worthless garden decorations.

I typically stay in chiefdom for a long time. Extra military costs from Monarchy hurt, not to mention I'd have to keep them home to get anything out of it. On the other hand, when I fend off early rushes, I can get lots and lots of more precious xp and perhaps even generals for my troubles. I have run an empire of 9 cities with 75% science just fine despite 100% distance and city count maintenance (courthouses help).

I have one small request though. Since the BTS spies made it obsolete I wondered if you could change the GlobalDefines.xml definition

Reason : My 007 from the Secret Agents has it, but it should only be used to search&destroy the last couple of units when playing with <require complete kills> on. Right now its too cheap to steal plans. I could put a modular GlobalDefines.xml into the mod, but I really wanted to keep it simple (plus other mods might change the file) Thanks

I'm not a fan on nagualism, but I eventually got it as the major world religion in a game. does the holy shrine work properly? I didn't get any free specialist from any quarry at all :p

also, the parthenon gives extra science and culture for every state religion building, and not for every hellenic building.

edit: an idea - I've never read the pedia on Chicen Itza, and I might be saying bull****, but what's the real point on +25% defense in al cities? shouldn't it be a religion-oriented wonder?

It's still 10 days to July and the first week of July was the intended time for patch release so this means that I might have to release the patched version with few things missing / not fully implemented and then add them in later patches. I'll hurry a bit and try to at least add something to all new techs before releasing the patch and worry about tweaking things later.

tat is good... i am starting my new job on 1 july and pn clearing my leave until then... intending to play civ 4 bts with, of course, your mod in the meantime.
 
Aaaah I must decide 2.7 now or better! My brain is going to explode...
 
I'm just waiting to install the patch until 2.7 is stable and ready to play with it. In the meantime, strangely, 2.53 works just fine! I started a 2.72 game today to test the mod and it finally gave me the spinning world bug by the end of the day. :( I am playing revolutions and barb civs.
