Version 2.7 discussion

Zappara was your 2.7 RoM test using RevDCM 2.0 as it's base mod?

I ask because I'd like to track the cause of multiplayer getting destroyed. See here for details:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=8200873&postcount=1360

Anyway I'm really hoping the player base of RoM being as large as it is could give us the insight to know if multiplayer broke in RevDCM 2.00 (and thus was busted by WoC), or broke in 2.5 (and thus is caused by the conversion to BtS 3.19).

So now that 2.7 has WOC, can we use any of these modules here?
Yes, some of them probably work without modifications in RoM v2.7 - my guess is that these should work right away (though each should be tested separately):

leaders
promotions
interface (probably works)
civics (might but overlaps with RoM civics)
Builds (probably)
Corporation (font might be missing)
National Wonders (might need tech and cost adjustments)
Great Wonders (most already in RoM, might need tech and cost adjustments)
Buildings (might need tech and cost adjustments)
Resources (yes, at least fonts are included in RoM files, note that maps are already cluttered with resources)
Units (most of them in RoM already, might need tech, resource, cost adjustments)

and these do not or are already included in RoM:

game concepts
new civs (RoM has different settings)
Events (all in RoM already)
Animal units (all but Gorilla already in RoM)

RoM 2.7test2 has RevDCM 2.0 included. I can't test multiplayer mode myself so we'll have to rely on reports from other players.

So is the link fyksed now? Is it safe to download?

Edit: never mind, just seen in the other thread claims that it is, AS YOU WERE!

So far so good, downloaded, extracted, installed, started and launched flawlessly....now for the hard part, the QUALITY CONTROL!

The only one I really cared about was the icebreakers one, but it should probably work. I'll see later on tonight.

Spotted a couple of bugs so far.

1. I can build mines outside of my cultural borders now.

2. The:traderoute: icon on the city bar has disapeared. I checked to see if trade was taking place between my cities and it is. Its just the icon thats missing.

Will keep you posted on any other finds.

Infact the city bar doesn't appear to be right at all. I'n my cities so far i'm seeing this = (Defence Icon) :gp:+10%

1. The mines outside the city is a feature from 2.6x so you can prepare a city before building it.

2. I dont know if zappara fixed the gamefonts in the new download. Otherwise give these a try and see if it works : gamefonts

put in ...\Civilization4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Rise of Mankind\Assets\res\Fonts

1. I see... that one must have passed me by

2. Thanks will give them a try :)

Like your quote btw!

What`s the "Realistic Diplomacy" in Unloaded Modules in 2.7 ? :)
And big thanks to zapp for v. 2.7 :)

Remember though, the AI only forgets penalties when it makes demands, not vice versa.

yep, but with the new function to ignore civs (dont remember the ingame text, but its something like :stop bothering us), this module is worth gold. Not have to worry for the rest of the game, which demands an AI civ might have made earlier. How long time does it usually takes for a civ to forget his demand?

Ah yes... sits back wistfully. I never intended it for that purpose, but whatever suits your fancy. If only I could code SDK or Python. Then the AI would never remember my nuclear apocalypses...

Where were we. Ah yes. The AI usually forgets it's demands somewhere between 10-30 base turns. More if you use a slower gamespeed, less if a faster. It's pretty easy to mess with, just look at the memorydecays tag in the XML.

Is the Wool bonus something that you put in for a future building? It's listed as a resource, but nothing seems to use it.

Yes, there's half dozen other manufactured resources still missing because I had to release the v2.7 patch two weeks too early due to this surprise BtS 3.19 patch. There will be resource changes in future RoM patches.

Hey, I was wondering if the version of Perfectworld map script you have included in RoM is perfectworld 2 or the original, slower perfectworld?

Okay, thanks for the answer!

Older one. I vote for new one but I think Zappara said before that he wanted a mapmaker other than himself to deal with that.
Jabarto, you up to it? :D

It looked like few UU status is absolutely same with unit that their replace with.Aren't you planing to change their status, zap?It isn't nice to have an UU that just has different name and different costume
