i'm playing a 2.6 alpha 1 game. global highlands, massive continents. the world is mostly in the shape of pangea. emperor difficulty, large map, marathon speed, 30 civs.
hannibal had conquered and vassalized about half of the world, then all of a sudden he stopped researching! i noticed that it was taking him about 99 turns to research battlefield medicine, so i checked his capital. he was running 100% culture! it's been more than 100 turns now, and he has finished researching battlefield medicine at that snail's pace, and has begun a new tech with 0% spending... i'm crushing his musketmen with tanks, but this shouldn't happen on an emperor game. this has to be a bug.
It means the AI is going for a Cultural Victory. how did that game Turn out?
I haven't tested RoM in Linux environment but that sounds like it's a problem with BugPath.py file which should locate your BtS installation and mod folders. Does the regular BUG mod 3.6 work correctly in your system when installed as a mod (not to custom assets)?just incase it narrows things down for someone, i'm also missing my interface now since 2.6, same as the others. I am useing ubuntu intrepid 64bit.
Edit: This is with the 2.6 Full version, not a previous version patched to 2.6
Edited Edit: Same thing happens with 2.5Full patched to 2.6
This is probably caused by BUG mod somehow as it seems to prevent adding new shortcuts to the game. I noticed this when I was trying to add Abandon city python code which has new shortcut and I couldn't get it to work. What needs to be tested is that does this happen also in plain BUG 3.6 mod or only with BUG that has been merged to RoM 2.6.First off Zap, want to say thank you for all the work you've done on this mod, it's by far my favorite for Civ 4. The issue I'm having isn't a major one by any means, doesn't even effect gameplay. What is happening is that I can't use Shift-T to enter the debug menu. I have chipotle in the config files, and used game.toggledebugmode ingame just to make sure, but still can't access it. I checked in the Extra mod just to make sure it wasn't something that had happened to my install of BTS, but it's working fine there. I've poked around in the XML ect., to see if I could figure what might maybe be over riding it, but have had no luck. I was wondering if you might have an idea what it might be, and if so could point me in the right direction, again, thanks for your work on the mod, have already had many hours of fun with it, and will continue to do so. This is for 2.6 by the way, haven't had it do it in any other vesion
RoM 2.6 does not use CvPath.py file. The mod uses now BUG 3.6's BugPath.py file and I think it's a problem with this file now. However those clever BUG mod team guys have made new file called CvAltRoot.py file (it's also in 'Rise of Mankind' folder) that allows users to write exact mod location to that file and place the file to folder where it is certainly read. Open that file to text editor, follow the instructions there and then move the file to correct place. Let me know if this fixes the problem on LinuxZap! I tried loading BUG 3.6 as a mod and it worked just fine. Could it have to do with the CvPath.py? and the fact that i'm useing Civ4 Gold edition? They found a solution for it here (the last few posts)
http://www.civ4.houmie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=95&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&view=print
but the modified CvPath.py isn't up anymore since that was about a year ago.
