Update Zero- So heroes are born!

The wanderers were friends for the people of Larthorn or so it would seem. After helping some militia members who were fighting some criminals the group split up. Lin Chuan went to the Hunter's Lodge on the edge of Larthorn forest and mustered the hunters. Jal Rekin spent a lot of time talking to the Captain helping to finalise details and plans. Whilst Aiken has been counting his gains from the fight earlier and then started to prepare himself for the fight ahead. Khyrdin saved an injured militia memeber, received the briefing like everyone else and started to prepare as well. Thomas spent his time meditating and talking in hushed tones to the old man. Finally Tiglath Plasser spent his time getting to know the militia and teaching them about orcs and their tactics.

A few hours later one mile from Larthorn.

"The battle is joined. Fight now my friends. Fight long, fight hard. Alsa Untor zar!" The battle cry of the elves was taken up by all " Alsa Untor zar! ( For Untor we fight!)" The two forces, one of hunters, rangers and druids collided with over sixty orcs (20 humans, 15 greenskins, 15 wild elves and ten trolls plus a dragon Magus.) The fighting was fierce but soon several orcs were felled by elven arrows. Six of the human orcs were killed, three greenskins and a troll! Then the battle ended. The elven force was destroyed as Enzor entered the fray. His orcs retreated and soon Enzor was alone. The spirits of the forest fell first for their magic was strong enough to rival his if they had time to combine their powers and gather their strength. Next fell the druids but not before they could do some damage to Enzor - his wings were broken by the druids. Enzor screamed with pain, for he had not known it for a long, long time even for a dragon. This gave the hunters and rangers time to let their bows sing as the elves would say. They began to engage in a fighting retreat but Enzor soon recovered from the shock of pain and used it to fuel his magic. The hunters were oblierated in a blast of fire. No survivors. The rangers managed to escape phyical destruction but instead were attacked mentally. Five rangers make in out vaugely intacted. That it all that survived, the animals fleed as soon as they heard the word dragon so that is why they are not mentioned.

Enzor then regrouped his forces and ordered them to attack. The trolls have breached the walls at the corner conneting the North and West walls. The strike team have had no time to move and the horde is now in their way. So guys what ya do?

I didn't know where you wanted to be but either way the Captain had you detained till it was time for the battle knowing you wouldn't stand a chance. This is my way of saving your character from death or insanity so don't argue.

I will get up onto a wall and start firing arrows from my shortbow at the trolls, aiming for vital organs. "Alsa Untor zar!" (For Untor we fight!) I yell as I begin firing as fast as possible.

The arrows hit (I didn't roll because how could you miss a troll from close range. I am assuming you ran to the breach and then accessed the walls.) but they either bounce off the tough hide or the wounds are regenerated too quickly to make much of a difference. Dalius appears out of thin air beside you. "Need a hand," he says and then he waves his hand and a wave of heat strikes the trolls blistering skin from bones. He then enchants your remaining arrows with heat energy and they glow red hot. "Always hit a troll with fire or a very fast killing attack if you can. It is so much easier." He looks drained from the effort. (just like you mod so night, night.)

I will start fireing arrows from the Garrison near the corner. Also shoot magic Fire at their lion clothes. Want to see if they want to reproduce ever again. Then, when Teh Dragon comes, retreat to Magus Tom.

"Alsa Unto Zar!"

Edit, won't need mine enchanted, just burn the arrow shaft just before entrance to pierce the hide and then burn their loin clothes.

I LOVE burning loin clothes!

{The first arrow heated red hot and entered the eyes of one who was threathening the wall "Moose" is on, then, burn the loin clothes and reproduction areas if it has any.

"Wow, thanks."
I fire my remaining arrows at the rest of the trolls, then draw my sword and prepare to leap down onto the foes.

{OOC: Well I'm done for the night too.}

I fire remaining arrows and light a small fire on the edge of the sword, won't burn metal fire, and join Moose and if fight goes badly, retreat to the garrison.

I tell the about a score of the soldiers firing the arrows that they better be aiming at Green skins instead of trolls.

First attack, loop the first troll's head off by a jump.

(Yes, a long hunting knife, yes, fire magic. Yes Elongated Blades of Fire!)

Hearing about the breach in the wall, Jal began to panic. What he does depends on whether the captain, the old man, or the subordinate is close enough to rush over and talk to (assuming it is practical- preference in order given)

Captain/Subordinate (Captain if both are):
Rushes over, admits honestly about the incident with the old man/Magus, and asks why he doesn't try to hold the breach in the walls himself.

Old Man/Magus:
Asks the same question.

Neither:
For now, will follow whatever orders he's been given. Will be cautious to the extent he can within those orders about risking his life.

I'll close the breach with a wall of flame, and from this flame, summon fire elementals to attack the enemy. My staff is used to Protect me from any magical attacks.

I'll need physical protection from one of you, just in case

After it is sealed I will make a quick bow to Tom and then shoot through the flames.

"Ready! Aim! FIRE!" I call to the Miltia. Then I will place myself infront of Thomas fireing my own bow of flame. (I mean fireing heated arrows)

"You have my thanks!" yelled Li as he chopped off an Greenskin attempting to jump through then fired off a bolt of fire magic at a charging troll most likely piercing his lungs.

OOps, double Post. Sorry! Take in account both please!

Charles Li and Moose Warrior

Between them Lin and Khyrthin manage to kill or drive off the three trolls that were left but the damage was done. Two massive breachs have been torn in the walls and the orcs were pouring into the village. The militia are hard pressed to defend both breachs and are begining to withdraw. Lin succeded in surronding his blades in fire.

The Captain points out that you are fighting for your life. So you fight along side him and hope he will keep you safe.

The Gnome strides forth and raises the trademark staff of his order, the Magus Staff and tries to seal the breaches with a wall of fire. Sadly the energy required from the spell almost killed the Gnome, only with his Staff absorbing as much energy as possible did he survive. His knowlage, or lack there of, of evocation did not help matters. But he did it the breaches have closed. 8 human orcs, 10 Wild elves and 8 greenskins got in. The militia now number 30 men and women (including wounded) with 20 dead.

I will aid the Gnome by giving a small fire for him to absorb more energy from. I will lead 8 Miltia armed with Glaives and Spears in a charge. With my Hunting Knife elongated with flame I will strike from East of the Breach and kill a few, then retreat after their attention is on us instead of the Civilians.

I yell "Flanking Manuver NOW!" about after we have hit a total of about 6 Orcs.

(so attack after making fire for the Gnome. Then attack after sending a scout to tell the Captain situation. Then, the Flanking attack will either rout them into the walls of fire or kill them. I will stay at the front with a shield borrowed from a dead Miltia. I will try to not be surrounded.)

Surprisingly, when I arrived at the southern gate, I had been welcomed in and immediately assigned to the western gate. Either these villagers were the most trusting people in the world, or the most desperate. Village gossip quickly made me decide they were the most desperate. As Master Raji said, “Only a fool fights a dragon or insults his wife’s cooking.” I choose not to share this bit of enlightened thinking with the five militia members who had been assigned to guard…errr…accompany me. I did not think they would appreciate its wisdom at this moment.

I sat behind the western gate’s defensive lines, sitting on the dirt path. Before me, I had earlier drew a circle inscribed with two triangles, one pointed north, one south, slightly overlapping. Now I carefully considered the scroll partly unrolled before me. A river flowed downwards, its source, unrevealed. As if the gods were pouring a libation offering on the earth.

“Sir, Sir.” One of the militia members stood some distance away, for I had already warned them what I would do if they ruined my dirt art, yet still his persistent whine sounded as a fly in my ear. “The enemy has breached the walls, you must assist!”

“’Without patience you may start many things, but finish none’ so said Master Lin.” I unrolled the scroll a little more, revealing the beginnings of a mountain, a temple pillar holding up the starry canopy.

“We also can’t finish anything if we are dead!”

“Life is but a dream, Death the sleep. Life is an illusion, But there is no other reality. Reach out your hand…oh never mind, as Master Kon said, ‘To educate a pig is easier than instructing a fool.’ Now, I advise you to turn your backs to me, it will postpone your nightmares for a little longer.”

I stood up, taking the ankh from my belt, allowing it to swing freely from its chain. As I chanted, it both it and the symbols I had drawn on the ground began to glow white.

Vengeance you sought, and strength as well,
So in the blood of a thousand demons you bathed.
And so gained what you coveted.
From your prison, I call you, your master commands!

You manage to kill two of the human orcs (note the orcs have driven you back to the first barricades now so routing them to the walls of fire is unlikely,) before you are forced back to the baricade. The orcs may not be intelligent but they are strong, even stronger than a normal orc, no doubt down to some tampering by Enzor. Your flank attack fails to break the enemy but does force them back. A total of 4 humans and 6 greenskins fall before you and your squad of eight militia members get bogged down. You watch horrified as two of your men stumble and are torn to shreds. The orcs begin to eat the remains as well. Your men break and run back to the baricades. If it were not for
Tiglath Plasser you would be dead. He forced a way through and dragged your shell-shocked self out. The Gnome cannot absorb the fire you give him because he is in a comma. Only a direct trasferr of your energy into his body would wake him you.

Strategos I will reply once I know what kind of demon or spirit you are trying to summon. Either you can make it up or I can give you a list.

Strategos I will reply once I know what kind of demon or spirit you are trying to summon. Either you can make it up or I can give you a list.

A demon called Vanar. Once, when the earth was still young, he was a warrior. Then, his family was murdered. If one bathes in the blood of a thousand demons, one can gain a demon’s power. So it was in order to enact his vengeance, he did such a deed. Unfortunately, such power will so overwhelm you as to destroy your mind. Now, he is a demon who lives only for blood.

Because Vanar has lost his mind, he is relatively easy to mentally dominate. Obviously, that also limits his effectiveness, he is more of a “point-and-kill” berserker-esque demon with high offense, no defense. The preparations made beforehand are more to ensure he doesn’t immediately try to kill the surrounding militia long enough for him to get in the midst of the orcs, who he is allowed to kill. After he is sufficiently damaged, he will be revoked to his prison to tend his wounds until he is again needed on another day.

Appearance: A man’s body with a ram's skull for a head, carries two axes.
