Or maybe, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic?

I hate that game studio, Arkane... their developers posted on their own forums that due to memory fragmentation, it is recommended that people with less RAM should set their system swap file to 4Gb.

Before reading that post, my system has 1Gb, and because of my graphics card is pretty low end, I expected to set the graphics level to the lowest to play it. But no... I couldn't even reach the main menu. It crashed to desktop after playing the intro movie, and after loading to almost complete in the loading screen. The error was "cannot read memory", a clear sign of memory management problems in the program (because my system was running perfectly). Searching the developer's forum, it was a very very common problem. There're a lot of players who face the same error.

Then I read that post... as a programmer myself, I was disgusted by that. Why on earth do you need 4Gb of memory to reach the main menu? And that had been 3 months after the game release (I got the game late), and that memory problem was still unfixed, while multiple multi-player patches (which uses Stream) were released.

But I went ahead anyway, setting my system swap file at 2Gb. This time the game reached the main menu, and I set all graphic options to lowest. That allowed me to play the tutorial - until after the first black knight, when I was just going to stab my first zombie, the game crashed with the same memory error.

Last time I checked there're still no patch to fix that. I'm very angry with this lame studio and their lousy programmers... even when I get my next computer, I still won't install their garbage... anything made by Arkane, I won't buy.

I have the same problem. I can't get to the main menu unless I quickly bypass the intro movie. If I let the intro movie run longer than a few seconds it's doomed to crash. Some trippy code in it to need 4GB, and since they already got their money for that piece of ****, why should they bother to fix it.

No, no and no.

THe give away is the FPS counter in the upper left corner and the health bar in hte lower right corner. You might also recognize the gronud texture.

Normally in this game, in fact, no where in vanilla, is the water deep enough so that you are compeltely submersed, and there is no swimming.

This was the Gladiator mod.

Come on, I know there are peopel who play this game here, though I doubt they are Turkish.

Turn based tactical combat. However the game in question introduced optional real-time combat to the series.

The demo introduced me into XCom, but i never played Apocalypse much, since Enemy Unknown sucked up all available gaming time!

Anyway, it is time for the return of the much feared mp3 question!
If you played the game in question at all, the sound should be easily recognizable and invoke strong emotions. :mischief:
