I know it. GREAT game.

But i don't have any question.

Alrighty, assuming I'm right, here's your new question.

In one particular game bearing "Final Fantasy" in its title, there are four related characters whose original names are taken from an epic poem written in the early 14th century A.D. Name the game AND the four characters.

EDIT: To make things easier on everybody, I'm NOT thinking of the MMO game Final Fantasy XI. I have no idea what's going on with that anymore.

No idea... though it's not a surprise, since the only FF I've played is 7 and 8 on PC. And being a Chinese in the IT field, the only epic poem I've heard of from that period is "The Divine Comedy"...

That's the only one i can think of, too. (Being a German in the IT field... ;))
So let's give it a stab:
Are Dante, Virgil or Beatrice among the names?

I should really know this...are they playable or can they be summons (GF's, Espers, etc) as well?

A couple of hints:

The Divine Comedy is the correct poem (nice work thinking of it so quickly ;)), particularly the Inferno portion.

There are some other names common to both the game series and the poem but only one set should satisfy my question. If you find a different set that would be pretty cool.

And to answer a good question, no, the characters to be named are not playable!

EDIT: typo

It's not that obvious... though the name acheron rings a bell... so does beatrice and virgil.

But FFIX is the only character with the name of Beatrix and you do get to play as her in a few spots in the name

unless this is from tactics, otherwise I have no idea

Acheron, Styx and 3rd river of hell who'se name i can't remember.
EDIT: Phlegethon - the 3rd river

Ok, i'll stop random guessing since i never played any FF game. :p

Since my question seems trickier than I wanted it to be, I'll give you folks two final hints.

The names of the characters are, for the most part, obviously Italian. That is, they sound less like Leonard and more like Leonardo.

The game in question has had more than two releases. Some of the names I'm asking for have actually changed over the course of these releases (!), but the latest American release of the game has all four names intact.
