Only played the demo of juarez, but once it get's cheaper I'll be getting it. I loved the vocie acting of the preacher.

A small hint:

The game in my question is recent, and one review I read before I got it compared it to Shining in the Darkness, Diablo II, and Final Fantasy XII. Granted, the author was comparing specific aspects of these games, but I think the game in question plays very similarly to the first of those three.

Does Ken used the fire formula on himself? Or is that a poor rabbit-thingy that Ken tossed his fire formula at?

It's the rat who's cookin'. That "fire formula" stuff is just the in-combat description of this game's run-of-the-mill Fire spell. The wording makes slightly more sense if you know what Ken's class is called.
