I think i'm gonna get it too - i heard it got great reviews too, which was a surprise to me. I thought it was going to be a nostalgia game.

Thats The Abbey is it not? Is that out in europe yet, i havent seen it anywere? And is it any good?

Correct. The german version was out for a while now. It took them almost a month to translate it. 
Anyway, the game is prety good - i'd give it a 8/10.
First of all you can tell it's been made by a small company as there are minor bugs here and there. (not the kinds that get you stuck tho)
The translation is aprox 98% good. I've never played translated games with this many dialogues before, so i dunno if that's a good thing or a bad thing ...
I assumed that if they got the thing translated, they would hire crap actors to read them. But it's not so, the voice acting is GREAT.
The graphics as you might have seen are good too. (i couldn't find any outside pics)
The game isn't TOO hard. But i had to use a walkthrough twice. That's a good thing kuz i usualy use them a lot more, since i suck.
It's also sorta short. As compared to older adventure games.
I also loved the atmosphere of the game. I always wanted to play a adv game in a monastery.
Well i guess that's about all i can say.

My playingorder made it like a prequel aswell, but yeah it came out i good while before the sequel. A new edition to the series is coming out next year. It should provide some much needed answers regarding the plot.
