@ 2:00 Goddess of the Hunt faith give extra food for camps in forests.
@ 3:52 Stonehenge is confirmed as giving Faith now.
@ 6:20 English Pirate ships

yeah..I think we can confirm them with that poster. We'll get another cavalry heavy civ, Im hoping they made cavalry useful again, and finally teach the AI to use it properly.

I thinx the most amazing thing I heard was this :

We take a look at diplomacy works in civilization there a lot of options that make you feel you are traveling through time and diplomacy is one of them !!!!!

Anyone happy to hear this

I like when he gets all worried about the fleet of English pirate ships and his spies tell him not to worry. Good interview there.

Religion is going to be very important along with espionage. Also, the most important thing to me is the rework done on diplomacy. You will feel like your in the actual era, because of the way the civs interact with each other duing the time represented. For instance, during the medieval era, religion will play a role in diplomacy. So the new system is based on what happened during those times, and what influenced the way people thought. Its not just based on standard rules you have to follow in the game now, or the world dogpiles you, or hates you, effecting trade income etc. In G&K, it seems to be more about having fun, and using your imagination, rather than having to play rigidly by cut and dry rules, or your doomed. I like that change most of all. The new design sounds very immersive and interesting. On top of that, each new game will be a whole new original experience. :)

I also like the idea of causing a coup in City States to bring them under your control.

Indeed sir, that caught my attention!

Unfortunately, he confirmed that technology stealing through spies will return. I would much prefer gradually getting beakers towards a specific tech through spies, not getting a whole tech at once. It feels kind of silly when my spy cell in over in England goes from giving me information on a city to suddenly figuring out nuclear fusion or nanotechnology.
That said, there's a lot of cool sounding stuff in here. It sounds like they'll be doing a lot of improving towards the gameplay, and maybe diplomacy will finally become interesting. I hope that the whole "diplomacy through time" thing is well implemented.

Well as you can hear in the interview they changed their view on it.

I thinx previously they thought it wasn't a big deal and it actually was good the AI was beating down against the human but they looked at the communitcy and said neah..

Anybody else think the David is a wonder, possibly?
The head of David has struck me as well.
It, of course, fits well with the religion-theme (David being a biblical figure and such).

And it might hint to a wonder, but I'd assume more something like the Uffizi, Palazzo Vecchio or the duomo of Firenze :)

I thought i heared there were 27 new units but he says 24 or am i missing something my english is not that good?

I like the way Ed Beach presented himself. He seems to know his stuff inside out, even if he was sanitising it for a non-fanatics audience.

:nope: He said 27.

Weren't they on the background screen for BtS (but weren't actually in the game)? Perhaps David is more like that. Just a backdrop. A singular artwork doesn't strike me as being enough for a wonder. I guess it could be used as an icon for something, though.

Also, Moderator Action: I embedded the video in the OP.

As you can see on the screen shots a spy op takes a given amount of turns, so expect stealing a tech will take a long time and it will work just like you got a bit each turn.

Thanks, I keep forgetting about that ability.

That's a good point. For all we know, stealing a tech might take as long as an RA.

I'm so glad they are bringing back and reworking espionage! I hate how in CiV Vanilla, when you saw enemies at you and your neighbors shared border, you weren't sure if they were trying to protect themselves, or getting ready to invade. This espionage will let us see more into how the AI thinks.

Curse interviewers really got bouncy heads :crazyeye: But apart from the interviewer, then it was a good interview :D
