I figure this is a sort of pointless qustion, but I'd figure I'd ask you guys before I sadly have to return this game to Amazon.
There aren't any patches that would possibly reduce the video memory usage in the sights of the near future, is there? I've been playing Civ for a long time and long awaiting this game, but it appears that I have 32M of video memory and not the required 64M. I have a laptop and there's no way to upgrade. I should've been smarter and bought 64M when I bought the thing, but I figured I wouldn't need it.
[rant]Why the hell does a strategy game need a goddam 3D engine anyway? The reason I was looking forward to Civ4 so much wasn't so that the trees could look prettier, but because of the intruiging game concepts, like religion. Not everyone has a computer that they bought three days ago - maybe I was being foolish to assume my mid-spec laptop that I got a year ago could run CIVILIZATION. Argh...

I assume there's nothing I can do about this problem. But PLEASE let me know if there's anything.
