View of the city on the strategy map does not change with the construction of walls?

I haven't played C3C for a long time, but I clearly remember that the city's appearance on the strategy map used to change after building walls. The .pcx files with images of cities with walls are also in the Art/Cities folder (so it's not the Mandella effect), but the image does not change in the game. The issue occurs in both the vanilla C3C (screenshots) and in the scenario I wanted to play. What could be wrong?

Updated: Walls are not displayed only at the capital, is this a bug or a feature? How can I understand have enemy's capital walls or not?

Sorry if I'm asking something very obvious.

It's a feature, kinda sorta.

Walls are only available to build in Size1 (Pop1-6) towns, and hence are only shown in the Size1 'walled' graphic -- but the capital is shown with the Size2 (Pop7-12) graphic even when it's still at Size1

(I don't think the cap gets the Size3 graphic when it goes over Pop7, but I'm not sure)

When an ordinary town grows to Pop7+, the +50% def-bonus from Walls is replaced by the +50% def-bonus for Size2. You can sell off your Walls at that point (for a few gold), if you want to.

Not sure if the cap automatically has the Size2 def-bonus, even when still at Size1. But if you want to remind yourself if it has Walls, you can always right-click and "Zoom to City".

OMG, there are so many strange features in this game... Thanks for information! I guess I'll have one more suggestion for Flintlock
