Nah, its intentional. The reason was that Despotism is a default starter civic in BtS, so instead of changing all the starter civics in Leaderheadsinfos (or was it CivilizationInfos) to Chiefdom, I just made despotism->chiefdom and vice versa. So the <Type>CIVIC_DESPOTISM</Type> is actually Chiefdom and the default starter civic for all Leaders/Civs.

edit. On a side note: I just took Tokyo from the Japs, and had some really interesting battles. The combat mechanisms are really starting to work as I have always dreamed of with the random siege damage, withdrawal, defender withdrawal etc etc. It feels, imho, much more dynamic. Though I also had a enemy catapult doing "close combat" :(
Have to see if I can cook something up in the UnitAI dll.

Also considering giving spies some XP from succesfully completed missions. While they are not exactly SuperSpies&#8482;, it would be nice to have "favorite" spies.
 
What would really be nice for spies is if they didn't actually go directly back to the cap after a successful op. It's really frustrating sometimes to have to send your spy back out to your border city to conduct another op, especially if your playing huge + maps and have quite a few cities.
Does anyone know if that's possible to edit?

another thing. One thing I kinda pushed in front of me the whole time is the credit list. I use quite a lot of graphics (though not uncountable many like VD or such), and some modcomponents (especially after the gamecore.dll), and I would like for it to be finished before the version 1.00. I'll try to make the credit list over the next couple of days, but if you notice someone I missed, please inform me.
I thought about for the graphic artists (which I guess is almost only units) just to make a continuous list, while the components should have the component name and then name.
but since I have worked on this mod for years, Im sure to miss something/someone.

I was gathering <iCost> data for techs to present the reason I said in a previous post that Tech costs were all over the place, when I decided to look into the CivicInfos file and saw the Despot/Chiefdom thing.

I'm doing some xml modding, the easy stuff but it's a start. I have No Python or SDK skills whatsoever! Totally clueless there. :p

Vokayra reorganized C2C's Tech tree by Eras and in each Era each X column the techs with same costs are placed. If the Era has 5 columns then the 1st column contains the "cheapest" techs and each subsequent column the <iCost> is increased till the 5 column has the greatest cost for that Era. Does not hurt pathing at all as the OR and AND Prereq's determine the paths. Also there are some redundancies in the Prereqs that can be cleaned up, since you used RoM/AND as your base.

Plus I wanted to put together a file to show the way to break up the Poly/Mono/Buddhism chain so that the religions get spread better. And I wanted to find out where and How to turn Off Limited Religions (LR) (which I did in my current game). I'm just not a fan of LR. Plus someday I'd like to see if you would add several New Religions to the Base 7.

mmmm. strange. I actually use Mediafire, coz there is usually not alot of commercials, and no download delay. But recently I've started to those authorization thingys too.

I think you just needed to input Lufthansa and press Authorize Download.
Donno when or why they started on that (I dont see any commercials coz Im using Adblock Plus for Firefox). :(

Any recommendations for a mirror?

:D I know bro. But usually your busy with DOTO (thread I follow btw, good mod) and Barsoom (which I'm drooling over) and I think I saw you in one or two other threads. For you to pop up here and announce a modmod was epic. I'm actually enjoying Vince's mod, and for a modmod to go with it? well, let's just say I may need to send the wife to her mothers for a stretch while the boys and I contribute our valuable time to assist you in your obviously self-sacrificing endeavor :mischief:.

most of my time goes on league of legends.....this keeps me away from putting time onto moddig.

my barsoom mod is on a hold, but i dod tons of work there. i want to have a regular mod that works well.


im now on testing phase of vip + kmod, im running ai autoplay games to make sure its stable,
i had a wierd crash but perhaps im over it, more tests are needed.
im gonna add a bit of everything, my ideas from doto, uu, making the civs abit more different from each other and some other fun stuff.

Quick follow up..later on in the day I attempted the download again, the download was ready..apparently it's just s l o w :popcorn:
