Hello everyone !
This is it. The last poll. After covering most of the world, now, we'll focus on modern nations, created from former colonies or else. You know the rules, 3 civs, 3 votes, comment and discuss.
In two week, one last thread with the final results will be published, so that you may have an idea what civs civfanatic members wish for in majority. So, for the first and last time, please don't hesitate to talk and convince other civfanatics members to vote on the 12 polls so that the sample of voters may be high enough !
Here are the links to the first eleven polls :

I thank you all for these 12 weeks in which you gave your time, and wish you all the best !

I voted Australia, Mexico and Venezuela.
I feel like there's still a lot of room for Latin American civs. Especially with Venezuela as you could have the great Simon Bolivar as leader, and that would be huge.

Not a single one.

I voted in Argentina, Canada and Mexico.
But looking at the possibilities, I believe that Argentina is the most feasible and possible. Canada is too young and very similar to the United States and England. Mexico already has its space filled by the Aztecs.

Among other options, Gran Colombia lasted very little time, and its inclusion would only be justified by Simon Bolivar, and I do not see the feasibility of including Colombia and Venezuela separately. Australia would be interesting to fill the large empty space of Oceania, but like Canada, Australia is very young and not very distinctive. The Zulus will probably represent the southern part of Africa, and it is a better option than South Africa. And Nigeria could be represented by the Benin Empire.

Just to reiterate guys, you cannot really say that an area is 'too crowded', I mean Europe is a very small landmass comparatively, and even more so considering the proportion of Civ's for that area. I don't have a problem with that, I think having a lot of European Civs is really important, but you cannot say America is full, or Africa is full. I mean those areas are definitely bigger than Europe and have much, much fewer civs to speak for them.

Why is South Korea excluded from the poll exactly? It is just as post-colonial as North Korea right? (if anything -more- since they are far less under the influence of a foreign power than North -China's lil' brother- Korea)

They could have some military bonus to late game drone warfare, ya know, because of all the Starcraft:p

I know many here are amped up on cultural diversity; hence why the brutal stone age Maori* have 14 votes, along with another 9 votes for Polynesia as a whole....and thus far New Zealand only has one vote! Mine lol ;)

I don't mind were either Polynesia (again) or the Maori to be given their own Civ; yet it is ironic that New Zealand -the first modern country to give women the vote; a country which has worked harder than all the rest to atone for the sins done to the native population; a country which (like it or not) refused to be part of the Western hegemony lead by the U.S.- is not on the rader. I'm good with the idea that younger modern Western countries are represented in the game by the States (and now Brazil); so meh. But if they ever were to add another young country, stop harping on about Canada or Australia! New Zealand offers a hell of a point of difference to all the rest! :p

*Do not get me wrong. The Maori are a hell of an impressive people. Amazing fighters; and for the most part saw the opportunities interaction with Europeans as being a great thing, not a negative. I am glad that the NZ governments in my life time have done much to recognise the wrongs we did to the Maori over the past 175 odd years.

I suppose because North Korea does a lot of saber rattling, which gets it media attention. But to be fair, neither is likely to appear in game, given that a medieval Korean civ is almost certain.

Damn Aussies *grumbles* lol

Not voting for Australia since it's confirmed, I picked Argentina, Canada, and Mexico. If anymore post-Colonial nations are added after Australia, it would be those three.

Lots of good picks, it was very hard to narrow down to just three, but Cuba, Gran Colombia, and the Boers/South Africa. I would also like to see Haiti, Mexico, Canada, New Zealand, Nigeria, and Singapore.

Voted:

Canada!!!!!!!! (Why would you do Australia instead of Canada on our 150th anniversary? Now that we have the Aussies in people might start to complain about having too much British Commonwealth countries)
Gran Colombia (We need a Spanish-speaking latino-populated South American civ that isn't the Inca. Well we need this, and the Inca)
South Africa (We could have Zulus again instead)

Honorable mentions:
Peru (We could have the Inca again instead)
Haiti, Cuba (these two countries have such an interesting history, that being the colossal struggle against the imperial superpowers. If we don't get full Civilizations we could at least put Port-au-Prince and Havana as City-States)

Footnote: We could continue the Civ tradition of having Zulu civilizations but asking for a Boer civilization is basically asking for a Tibetan civilization: It's controversial. Having these South African ethnicities possibly duking it out on the battlefield is not exactly a popular narrative in South Africa. They have a history of strife between ethnic groups they have to heal from. (correct me if I'm wrong, I never lived there)
Civ5's Scramble for Africa scenario can be at least interpreted as native powers resisting imperial powers. That's as far as we should go without going deeper into controversial territory.

A Tibetan civilization doesn't help with the Chinese government's Paranoid agenda (not an in-game Agenda but being paranoid for real) of censoring anything that doesn't fit their narrative. Basically they'd ban anything that portrays alternative history. To ask for a Tibetan civilization is basically asking them to blacklist Civ6...
