Vpr3- 5CC Babylon

Golden age ended without too much of a problem, and the revolt happened during the golden age because I thought we had more time left in the golden age than we really had. The Romans plopped a city down next to the incense city and stole three tiles from us, and we need to out culture the Germans in that area because they have some of our tiles, if I remember correctly. But maybe we could use some AC and burn the Roman town, since they are so far away. Also disbanded some regular warriors because they were costing us.

Nothing much happened. I build infrastructure and watched AC appear. Major faux pas last turn - traded theology around the world. In return we got silks, horses, dyes, g and gpt.

Preturn- I am at a loss for our research here. Printing Press? I swtich to Education.

One thing I noticed in my turns is that we were building cathedrals before markets in a couple cities. Markets are a much better selection in most any scenario.

I shut down the palace build that was going in Ashur. Not sure what it was for. I started Sistine's there as a university prebuild. Also, I think the Sun Tzu build going in Babylon should be switched to Copernicus once we get Astronomy, which we should research next.

Also, I have a stack by the Roman city, we can torch it if we like.

Got it. Will try to keep this fast moving, but I'm up in 3 other games.

Decided to get this out of the way quickly. Perhaps we'll set a record of the most turns played in a day or something.

Not much happened, change Art of War to Knights Templar because we can just build barracks in all of our cities and it won't change the gpt by much (also expensive.) It'll be done in 3 turns if anyone feels strongly. Traded Education to Rome and got Chivalry, Invention, gold, and gpt. No one else would trade much. Building some Universities right now.

Well no time to find out if people feel strongly, because we have a record to set. One full rotation in a day. Will post in 30-45 minutes.

Copied and pasted my log here, didn't save it, and then the browser crashed. So a summary instead: KT finishes early on, and I can't declare on the Romans because they are paying us. Oh well. Not much action, except I built a couple of workers to improve the tiles in the south. Uruk, I think, is working unimproved tiles. Late in our turns, we get banking and Greece pays us 72 gpt and 65 gold as well as Gunpowder for it. Actually, that was in our last turn.

Right before we learned Banking (like the emphasis on chronology?) the Romans demanded gold, we said no, and they declared. Then their city burned, with no loss of AC and one promotion to elite. I think we can just pick off Roman units as they enter our territory, and maybe station a few along the coast just in case. But the Romans have an RoP with Germany, so it shouldn't be too long before we start seeing the odd Roman unit. I set research on Astronomy at full steam, but both can be changed as no beakers have been invested and I am not particulary attached to Astronomy, especially since it is a favorite choice of the AI after they have learned Gunpowder. So actually, I would recommend changing it.

Kind of funny that I actually kept a log but lost it, so tradition has been maintained.

Our empire on my last turn:

Because the rotation took just over 5 hours, I wonder if we could get it around the roster twice in 24 hours? Edit: Now that I think about it that probably won't work because it would end at about 1:00 tomorrow. Perhaps 36 hours which would end at 1:00 in the morning 2 days from now? This is all calculated on GMT -8, by the way. For -5 change to 1 to 4 and for -6 it's 1 to 3.

Admiral Kutzov- Up
Kaiser Berger- On deck
viper275- Making team set record ;)
bed_head7- Just played

Nah, I don't think it is possible based on when I can play (for the next hour and then not again until 11-12 PM GMT). Twice in 30 hours might be a possibility though.

:bump: Kaiser Berger? I know you're up in another game, perhaps others, so I'll be patient.

This is terrible. Early onset Alzheimers, I guess

Thanks for keeping me on my toes though. I'll get to both of them tomorrow.

Actually, it looks like I won't be getting to this one until Sunday evening. If someone can step in before me to keep this going, that would be cool. Otherwise, I'll play sunday night for sure.

I have lots of RL right now. Unless bed_head7 could take it we'll probably want to wait.

Not that interested in playing again so soon, though I could probably play today. So I'll pass.

Preturn- We look good.

IT- Not much

T1 660

Kill some Greek units. Trade Hittites for Astronomy.

T3 680

Crusader army formed.

T7 720

Raze a Greek city.

Summary

Just some fun warfare. We're strong compared to the Greeks, so feel free to keep hacking away. The crusader army slices up hoplites quite nicely.

Got it. As mentioned in Monarch Training 2, I've got lots of RL now. 5CC shouldn't take much time, though. Will try to do it tonight. If not I don't know.

Tried to make this turnlog interesting :) .
Preturn- Good
1
Buy Chemistry from France for 956 gold. Our troops approach Argos.
IBT- Nothing
2
Argos burnt to the ground.
IBT- Greeks are building JS Bach's Cathedral.
3
Healing some units
IBT- Romans send a pike into our lands.
4
Nothing
IBT- Romans send another pikeman and they pillage a source of incense.
5
Throw a couple really large rocks at the Roman pikemen and they run away.
IBT- Nothing
6
Throw some more rocks at Corinthian guards then burn their city.
IBT- Smoke Jaguar declares war on Germany. Caesar sends a few knights in shining armor. Run! Actually, let's defend Uruk!
7
Nothing
IBT- Our Ancient Cavalry enjoying the smell of incense supposedly accidentally distracted the Roman knights and increases the chance of Uruk's survival. A couple Trebuchets are, however, lost. Looks like the rest want to finish off Germany.
8
We heal some units
IBT- A 3 cities riot because of our wars. Raise lux to 10%
9
Units almost done healing.
IBT- JS Bach's Cathedral built by the French in Paris.
10
Our units are seen from the Athens 850 AD Olympic games, slowly approaching the capital. There are Romans everywhere near Uruk. They will sign peace for 100 gold, if the next player wants it they can take it. Seems smart to me. The Greeks don't want us crashing their parties and will give us Metallurgy, Economics, and their profits from the games (all their gold) if we choose not to go. I think that immense cultural improvement could be seen from our soldiers when they return home if they see the games (in other words, a rather lame pointy stick could happen but it is... well... lame.)
