VQ Series Discussion thread

So that makes eight players confirmed and one unconfirmed. I imagine though eektor will want to play but is OOP until the end of the week. We do have too many players indeed with 8 so maybe two teams???? I don't think we quite have enough for two. There seems to be a number of players that are looking for a team so maybe that might solve our problem???

Just thought I'd update since they are beginning to put the teams together.

Since some of us are newcomers (myself included) perhaps we could seek to form the other team with new players and some of our own. So probably 2/3 players would have to join with other players without a team yet. Personally it doesn't matter to me and I might even see if the players at HN series might be interested. I just want to be ready to compile something for the MOD at some point.

That sounds sensible, Cosmichail. I would be happy to join you, Pigswill, and any extras in another team if necessary, to allow the VQ veterans to continue with a more reasonably-sized party.

Ok sounds good Scowler so here's another quick list:

Veterans:

Greyfox
NamliaM
Eektor
Maquis
Bobrath

New team

Scowler
Armstrong
Cosmichail
Pigswill

So just need one player and we're set for the SGOTM02. I did post to the HN thread and we'll see who wants to play there. Although no one else from that thread posted to the SGOTM02 signup. There are lots of players on SGOTM02 without a team so I don't think it will be a problem to have two teams of five.

I understand your point Greyfox but was trying to be considerate of the fact that the "Veterans" already played before as a team and might want to do it again. Perhaps some kind of randomizing might be fair if you feel that differentiating isn't the way to go. At this point I am pitching and noticed that the SGOTM02 thread was beginning to organize teams and wanted to have something ready. Hope that's ok.

EDIT

Greyfox (confirmed)
NamliaM (confirmed)
Eektor (unconfirmed OOP but will likely play)
Maquis (confirmed)
Bobrath (confirmed)
Scowler (confirmed)
Armstrong (confirmed)
Cosmichail (confirmed)
Pigswill (confirmed)
Codeman (showing interest)
LuvtoBuild (confirmed registering on SGOTM02)

So that now makes eleven with two needing further confirmation.

EDIT: We now have a list of eleven players and probably one or two more will follow from the HN series but I will indicate that only one spot left since we don't want to go past 12 players total.

@SGOTM2: I concur with Greyfox, we don't need to make a team of only veterans. Mix & match is fine with me.

No culture... it's nice to see that people are realizing just how hard this might be... no research buildings... small cities... very few wonders, etc.

Definitely.

So it's more like "On Hiatus so I don't have to play with GreyFox"

Hey Maquis, did you ever play Drasca's Cultural Revolution adventure for Realms Beyond? Might be worth checking it out - very interesting and very challenging.

I do appreciate the thoughtfulness, cosmichail. I just don't want so-called "newcomers" to feel left out ... plus I am sure some of the so-called "veterans" are tired of playing with me :)

Don't hide it GreyFox, you can just say that you have finally gotten tired of Naraing me!

If I am one of the Veterans, NO WAY.... :D

But part of SGs is that you learn from eachother and stuff, allways playing with the same people leads to less learning, thus kindoff defeating the purpose of SGs...

Krockel from HN is interested. I've advised him to sign up at SGOTM.
Who gets to split us up into teams? I'm happy to drag down whoever gets lumbered with me. Once we've split up I guess we'll have to let Alan H know.
Edit: Xtreme Rockstar is also showing interest, lucky 13.

Well, since GreyFox still hasn't done our final spoile writeup for SGOTM1.... he can't take the time to do it.

The rest of the VQ crew may be some of the least likely people to ever make a decision, so we're stuck there too....

Maybe we need to get some "dirrty" dice and have them decide for us.:mischief:

I'm game Greyfox. Who said that about the Queer stuff. Usually the one pointing the finger has issues LOL...

Greyfox (confirmed)
NamliaM (confirmed)
Eektor (unconfirmed OOP but will likely play)
Maquis (confirmed)
Bobrath (confirmed)
Scowler (confirmed)
Armstrong (confirmed)
Cosmichail (confirmed)
Pigswill (confirmed)
Codeman (showing interest)
LuvtoBuild (confirmed registering on SGOTM02)
Krockel (confirmed might need to register)
Xtream Rockstar (floater for skips/OOP)

This list makes twelve and I think that's more than enough.

EDIT: Now to be fair I organized it according to those speaking up in order. Xtream Rockstar spoke up after Krockel and if he wishes could fill in for skips/OOP. I just don't think having a seven team roster would work all that well. I would love to play gambit with the names and see what assembly of people I could come up with.

:mischief: you could always ask the objective SG fan with over 5000 posts to pick rosters ...

Excellent idea!

After much analysis (the words Euclidean and Cartesian were muttered at multiple points), I have devised the following rosters:

Team VQ Red
Maquis -- Red Leader
GreyFox
Scowler -- Red Scribe (I'll teach you to blame me)
Codeman
armstrong
Krockel

Team VQ Black
bobrath -- Black Leader
namliaM
eektor
Cosmichail
Pigswill
LuvtoBuild

Chris good one. I am fine with that list and would like to nominate LuvtoBuild as our Black Scribe. He is a writer and did a great write up in our HN series.
