I've just found an incredible site about some alternative to the classic windows explorer.exe (not MSIE eh!)

I'd recommend you try (beside the most famous, i.e. Litestep) Europa and 3D top (incredible, full 3D), or maybe Dimension. And of course, WinMac
That's the best one, even though a certain dumb horsy will surely say the opposite, just to try to annoy me 
Of course, most of them are free. And since it doesn't cost anything and doesn't harm your registry base, you can use them, safely. There's also a very light and fast shell, for games. Don't remember the name.
