Wargamers?

Another site well worth a visi:
http://home2.pacific.net.sg/~grognard/wargames/

It has lots of links including several to companies still making board wargames now. I'm probably going to buy one of the games from Columbia games. I remember being fascinated by a review of their first "block" game - Quebec 1759 - when it first came out in the early seventies.

I have one of Tom Dalgliesh's block game designs, "War of 1812" by Columbia.

I thought his solution to step reduction was quite innovative, as was his rules for troop movement.

It's a nice, simple, and fun game to play, far different from having 200-300 unit counters, and working out combat resolution in your head, while determining ZOC and soak-offs.

I also find the Waterloo campaign fascinating, Andu.

One of my favorite games on this campaign was from GDW, called "1815 The Waterloo Campaign".

I also have a Waterloo folio from AH, designed by Zucker, that, even though simple (and only 4 turns!) is quite interesting.

I also loved the old SPI Waterloo quad, but AH's Waterloo was just to inacurate in it's combat resolution and OOB.
