[BTS] Warhammer FB Version 1.5

ahhhh! the files seem to have been deleted from the host! :/

would you like me to try reuploading the mod to another server? or are you content to wait for when the alpha is released to the public?

I´d really like to try it so if you have the time to upload it then I´d be very greatful! But if your going to release the alpha in the close future (like in the next week or two) then of course I´d happily wait.

looks like you found our top-secret-remake of the mod we're working on in the team forum ;) i was wondering how long itd take for a non-team meber to find it :p nice.

We figure its probably not worth releasing an early alpha until it can play more than ~7 turns without crashing. There are also some other really weird bugs, like an inability to build cities except on bonus resources.

Yeah I sort of guessed, from the description of the file on atomic gamer, that it probably were quite a few weeks/months left until a final version. Just wanted ask in case... :)
 
i suspect once we get past these big bugs an actually testable version might be ready for release. but i honestly cant give any estimate of when that will be. it migh be 2 days, it might be a week, it might be 3 weeks. its impossible to tell with these kind of bugs.

if we dont get a version up in a fortnight ill reupload the old mod though (i think i still have a working version somewhere...)

Im using btw 3.19 but I'd like to try this mod. Are there any plans to make the mod compatible with 3.19 soon?

:lol: yeh there most certainly are. if you read a little further back in this thread youll see some discussion on that, also there is a WHoC teaser thread showing our progress so far.
 
What factions are included in version 1.5? There are some "hints" in the changelog, but I can't seem to find a full list.
 
well, 1.5 isnt being worked on any more and the downloads have broken.

the next version will be the Warhammer Heart of Chaos Pre-Alpha, and you can expect *at least* to have all 3 chaos tribes (norsca, kurgan and hung) and 3 Human civs (The Empire, Bretonnia and Kislev) but there is a possibility that we might include Estalia, Tilea Woodelve Sylvania and Dwarves as well. but thats only if youre lucky ;)
 
You guys are welcome to use my Skaven models, when I finish them, if you'd like. I just finished building the "worker" template, sans teeth and the clothing I wish to add. I need to clean the polys a bit, since it's currently 1600 polys, though. =C I can reduce it to just over a thousand polys, but I think I should just hand do it. I'm using maya, though and I can't export animations to NIF. There's a screen shot in the UNITS forum. I originally intended to make a Skaven Civilization mod for FFH2, so let me know if you'd like to use them.
 
Excellent, thanks we will definitely use them. We saw some screenshots before and were pretty excited.

I would really like to spend all my time to help you :P. Maybe I will be helpful with some models or art though.
 
We will definitely appreciate help with models and art. With 28 factions, each with many UUs, the art requirements for this mod are very high.

We think we have found one of our two main major bugs, but there is still an irritating CTD that occurs very early in the game. ~Turn 7 on normal speed, though much later on Epic speed (~turn26ish) or Marathon speed (~turn52ish).
 
Could it be that some AI races don't have a proper worker/settler unit? They try to build it and CTD?

I think we've pretty much ruled out units or buildings being the cause. Its not tech-related either, or culture related.

It happens even with only 2 players in the game on a duel map, and it happens even if you turn complete-kills on and take away the AI's cities, so there is nothing to build.

My best guess is that its something in the Fall Further barbarian code, but it happens even if the "no barbarians" game-option is off.
