Was It Obvious 1UPT Wouldn't Work?

@Civsassin

By the bold lschnarch appied in his quoting of your post, I assume he means that what you are sugesting is, for all the effects, letting 1upt down the road. That is not necessarily defending unlimited SoD or wanting to get back to civ IV ( really, I'm going to start reporting everyone that says that, because a lot of those are spam ( see definition of spam in the rules ) ). If you acept the fact that you can put more than one military unit in a tile, 1upt, even in it's military form, is dead. That is not improving 1upt , is replacing 1upt by something else ... probably closer of 1upt than of unlimited stacking, but being neither of them.

BTW, I didn't understand your first sentence. Your point though is taken. He is a fan of 1UPT, but doesn't think it was implemented well in CiV.

However, in the post I quoted originally, there was no mention of multiple military units on a single tile. All that was suggested were a couple of minor mods to the 1UPT scheme to improve gameplay, keeping 1UPT in tact as it was designed.

Ok, let me explain my first sentence.

You are sugesting some changes, like "Workers should be able to share space with non-enemy combat units" ( definitely agree with that one ) ... In my reading of what lschnarch said, i think he means that , unlike you are sugesting, this would break 1upt, a thing that is true. I do not agree fully with him, because civ V was never a pure 1upt to start with, so going more in the direction of stacking would surely help solving some issues.

But you must reckon that your changes to the game would not make a 1upt :D

Thanks. That was exactly my point.

@r_rolo1

I agree with you; CiV is a hybrid system, but combat units cannot and should not be able to share tiles. That's really the 1UPT implementation of the game. It is purely a combat modification. However, these are all semantics. The game's UPT system works fine IMO. I think that the few changes suggested would improve the CiV system, making it more user friendly and workable.
