In just their fourth season the Arizona Diamond Backs have reached the mountain top. Defeating the mighty New York Yankees a seven game World Series that's sure to go down in history as on of the best ever. Arizona manager Bob Brenly, "If you want to be the best, you have to beat the best. And that's what we did." Yes Bob you did just that. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And while I don't find it surprising, I still find it disapointing, the way that a select few of the Yankee players & most of the Yankee fans & NY sympathetic media figures are handling the defeat. Namely, Brenie Williams & Jorge Posada. Williams acted like a five year old throughout the entire series. Nearly every time that he got K'd (which happened with great regularity) he threw a fit. Bulletin Bernie...Randy Johnson & Curt Shilling make their money on strikeouts, that's where the nickname "the desert heat" comes from. So don't act so naive as to be surprised when you get rung up by them. And on a few occasions when he did manage to put the ball in play, he camped out in the batters box. Waiting to see if the ball would be cought or not. I had no opinion on Bernie Williams (good, bad or otherwise) prior to the series. But now I think that he's a punk. As for Posada...He said after the game that "All of those hits in the 9th inning were cheap knocks." What the f*** is a "cheap hit" Jorge?!?!? They only got them off of the best closer in the long history of postseason play. Bottom line...Cheap or not, the D-Backs are getting fitted for rings. Not the Yankees. Come on Yanks & fans sack up & act like the great champions that you are. Tip your hats to the D-Backs. The better team won.

What a great series, and what a great end result!

Dbacks are an amazing collection of veteran players, it's no wonder at all that they won this year.

I wouldn't worry about the whining of a few yankees...for the most part, they took the loss with class, and I do think most of them "tipped their hats".

A hit is a hit is a hit Jorge;)
In high school ball, I once won a game on a fisted bloop hit, much like the one Gonzalez hit to win the world series.....think it mattered to me? :)

Winning is the bottom line :goodjob:
