I had Civ IV Gold installed, and used blue marble to upscale the fonts.

I uninstalled Civ IV Gold, rebooted, and installed Civ IV complete.

Now, when I run Warlords I get the 'Blue Marble edition' on the main screen. I don't see that on either vanilla or BTS.

Weird. Anyone else notice this? Is Blue Marble part of the Civ IV complete package? Or does Firaxis uninstall program kind of suck?

All comments welcome.

What I think happened is that the uninstaller removed all files that the installer put on your HD. Any files you add yourself *marble cough* is not removed. If you reinstall the game in the same directory the files you added yourself will be there waiting for you, just where you left them.

Does CIV4 complete come with the most current patch?

I bought CIV4 gold and CIV4 col last month for 50 bucks....I have no internet and CIV4 is not working right.....

I will buy CIV4 COMPLETE if it works

I just bought and installed Civ4 complete and was previously using blue marble with the gold colours. After removing Civ4 and deleting the folder in program files I reinstalled and it did indeed have blue marble installed. However it was using the old blue colours and had changed the Main Menu wallpaper to the Nasa shuttle

I did not remove items in: C:\Users\SkyNET\Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword
Though, so i cannot give a definitive answer on whether it came with marble or used the previous install.

I opened BTS, not Warlords.

Yes it does come fully patched on the Civ side - Colonization needs to be patched after installation.

That would be the reason a lot of mods as well as the game cache reside in my games :)

Run blue marble again and choose "uninstall"...

Exactly, the Civ 4 uninstaller will only remove files the game itself puts on your hard drive. If any third party files also exist then they will be left exactly where you put them yourself. The only way to get rid of them is to delete the entire folder they were added to, after the uninstaller has done it's thing.

Its depressing gold edition doesn't come with much compared to complete version,,,,

I will buy the Complete version, but only if 3.13 is the latest patch that cures my hammer prob...I only have like one hammer in my forests and I should get three hammers....right?

Civ4 BTS patch 3.13 was installed with it, I had the 3.17 update on my HDD anyway.

Weird thing is the copy I bought does not have Colonization with it, but i'm in Australia so maybe we got a different "Complete" edition

Got it here, I was aware it didn't have Colonization, as I probably wouldn't play it anyway.

Civ4 Complete (released in Europe last year) does not include Colonization and comes patched to 3.13 - probably the version you got

Forests in the core game add 1 :hammers: to the tile yield...

Okay in the core game it only adds one hammer, but is that normal or am I crazy.

I think maybe I am remembering wrong, but a regular forest on a hill is three hammers(seen that once in the unpatched game)?

You're definitely remembering wrong. What you might have seen is someone going through a Golden Age. In that event you get an extra Hammer on your Forest tiles. What Ori has listed is the way it works. Only a Plains Forest on a Hill gives you 3 Hammers.
