weird...

I said carrot.

Scary...

Although I sort of doubt it has anything to do with 6; it might just be because "carrot" is a commonly thought of vegetable. I bet if it just said, right off the bat, "Quick, think of a vegetable!" the results would be the same.

I said turnip... well it goes well with carrots

 carrot...

i want an explanation. stupid site.

Well, I got carrot in my mind too. ;)

Those weird things happen in minds. I remember someone posting a sentence once and you needed to count the number of "f"s in that sentence. A lot of people counted three (including me), while there were six. But somehow you automatically skip the word "of" which was in there three times. :)

I saw this a while ago.
Back then it was even more obvious, because the line "Quick! Think of a vegetable!" was written in green and orange.
I still thought of green beans.
Now that I knew it and did this test, I had carrots on my mind all the time, as I knew what this was gonna be, but back then I said green beans (everybody whom I showed it to thought of carrots, though)...

Something else (may not work here, but try it on your friends!):
Imagine you're the captain of a ship.
The ship sails out from London, carrying fifteen containers of carrots to Arkhangelsk. There, it loads ninety containers of wheat, five containers of paper and three red cars, and sails on to Anchorage.
In Anchorage, it unloads the carrots and loads ten containers of fish, and sails on to Vancouver.
In Vancouver, it unloads two red cars and loads three blue cars, and sails on to Yokohama.
In Yokohama, it unloads the fish and loads two containers of computer stuff, and sails on to Taipeh.
In Taipeh, it unloads all the freight except for one blue car and one container full of computer stuff, and loads seventy-three containers of plastic articles and nineteen green cars.
It sails to Cape Town where the rest of the freight is unloaded.
How old is the captain?

lettuce, so i just proved the test wrong....

Ps: i thought about cucumber ;)

Well that's just great GenghisK. You just HAD to say cucumber in the first post. I read this post and did the test and I thought of cucumber because of YOU. Now I don't know if I WOULD'VE thought of carrot had I not known what you thought of first. Thanks a lot. You ruined the whole fun. ;) JK

The correct answer is your age, right? I've heard of a similar thing where it starts out with "You're a bus driver," talks about picking kids up and dropping them off, and then says something like "Does the bus driver wear glasses?", "How old is the bus driver?", etc.

 Same here, but then I decided to think of something else, and the first thing I thought of was a carrot.

At first i said "banana" then i said to my self "wait a second it said 'think of a vegetable'

and i though hmmm "carrot"

I'm a little concerned when the first thing i think of when asked to think of a vegetable is "banana" but i checked myself pretty quickly so i guess it ain't so bad ...

but "cucumber" .... why would you think of that ... who think's about cucumbers?

JK (about the cucumber ... I'm dead serious about the banana though)

Goodness i haven't posted in months ....
