Welcome New Members

Hello, everyone, I'm new to Civ but as far as I can tell it's one of the best games that I've ever played, and I'm glad to be here.

Hello Community, I'm from Germany and play CivIV Fall from Heaven2,
but before that I played FFH1 since It's first releases.

I'm glad to have my own Internetconnection now and can join civfanatics

I joined civfanatics in 2003, however I haven't played civ for quite a while now. Now I started playin civIV again and wanted to register new account.

I want to leave my first post here in this thread and say HELLO to all members of this nice community! Keep on civin'! ;)

Hello and a shout out to my fellow Civ4 fans. Long time listener, first time caller as they say.... Been around since Civ3, apparently never registered

Howdy Folks, I am a refugee from Sim City 4 recently come over to Civ 4 -Beyond the Sword, with all updates and a new computer. Been Lurking here for a while, finally decided to join. Great site- great game ! Thanks !!

Hey, Ive already been challenged, Sorry tho, I live on the edge of the grid. only part-time internet. but may get upgraded soon.

Hi, I'm Marc and just got Civ4 and BTS recently and am a total addict now. I don't normally like this kind of game, but somehow this one is totally addictive. I'm far more into FFH 2 than normal Civ, though; the FFH universe reminds me of a long-running Rolemaster campaign where I have an Evil Mage who rules over a very Bannor-like culture.

Hi everyone, been playin Civ4 for a while and BtS too but only just got round to registering to this forum.
I play on Noble, lower is too easy, higher is too hard.
Favourite leader is Elizabeth.
My best game was a Standard size, continents, epic speed, diplomatic win in july 1942 with Isabella, normalized score of 29,014 (5,944 in game score). Wiped out 2 civs and had 2 as my vassals!
Im trying to win with every civilization (mostly on standard size), 16 civs so far!

Hey, Welcome to CFC

Hello to everyone. I've been playing Civ for a while (started with Civ I), and also reading the forum for a while and appreciating the good tips, but just now joined. I look forward to talking with you all.

Hi,

I've joined to get involved with more multiplayer Civving with Civ 4 Mac/Warlords. Hoping some games can be set up through here.

Hi, if you are interested in setting up multiplayer games, you might want to check

http://league.civplayers.com/

MP Civ is a whole different ballgame... conquest is the only victory anybody ever goes for, and they quit if it becomes obvious they can't win. The time clock always set on blazing and click-fests are the norm... lots of little tricks you will need to learn (wait till 2sec left on clock before move, then immediately move next turn, stuff like that) to be any good. The league stops some of the quitting, but it becomes clear that for most league players the REAL game is climbing the ladder, and they don't care so much about having FUN playing civ.

If you REALLY want to play Civ and compare your skills with others, you are far better off competing in the Games of the Month (GOTM) found in this forum

http://gotm.civfanatics.net/

Just download and play, and join in the discussions.

Hello. I'm Marley and I'm a Civ3 addict. :D

I've read some of the strategy guides on this site before, but I just decided to try a GOTM with COTM46 this month, so it's time to post this introduction here.

I tend to play on huge maps and let games drag out to the modern age, so I expect to be put to shame by those of you who have perfected a style of early and aggressive warfare.

I'm Paul, and (obviously :D ) yet another Civilization IV addict.

I'm mainly looking out for ways to improve my game. Though fairly new to the Civ franchise, I'm by now able to beat the AI on Prince, and always on the lookout to try and adopt a new strategy.

Hi, My name is Ryan but I chose Kaeth because it was part of my world of warcraft name and I like it and have become used to it. I played WOW for 2 years and decided to give it up and Civ 4 is where I spend most of my time now when im on the computer.

I've always enjoyed civ ever since I first played it on playstation oh so many years ago. I've never played a multiplayer game and probably wont really, I enjoy playing the ai and challenging myself. Right now I can win on monarch with a diplo or space race victory, and have won on prince with a domination victory. My favorite civ is prolly the mongolians or the germans.

See you around on the forums and maybe one day you'll be hearing of me on the game of the month forums.

I'm Kawalimus and I gotta be honest with you. This board makes me feel like . .. .. .. .! :p

I've played since civilization 1 but casually. And I had a long hiatus from the series cause I didn't like 3 so I didn't play it much. But I got 4 a while ago and played it like that again then got BTS and now I actually want to get good at it.

So I'm playing and I've gotten up to Warlord, and I'm having my best game yet as the Indians with Asoka. I always play on custom game and turn off some of the . .. .. .. . annoys me like space race and culture victories. I don't like the way culture victories happen so I just omit em.

And then I come on here and see everyone is on noble at the very least, and even that's looked down on! I feel like . .. .. .. .! However I'm hopeful because reading this stuff is showing me all sorts new strategies, like I never even paid attention to specialists. And I'm terrible at farming great people. So I should be up to noble in no time and maybe higher one day.

HELLO COMMUNITY

My name is Dennis, I like dogs, and I just purchased CIV IV my first CIV game. About two months ago my friends son built me my first computer and CIV IV is the third game I have purchased. The first being Flight Simulator X-D.E. along with RACE 07. When I had my computer built I was really only thinking about using it for practical things like Photoshop, drawing, words, and such, but now I seem to be getting into this game thing.

I am not attracted to the shooter games, although it might be fun to shoot down some Nazi warplanes, so I started researching whats out there and CIV IV looked like something I could get into so I bought it. Well anyway after my third attempt to get through the tutorial I started believing there might be some truth to the rumor that I was indeed born in a barn. Do you really need to be a PhD to learn this game? The scope and scale of this game is intimidating and I guess that is what has driven me to this site. So I'm wondering are there any good guide books out there that might get me through a few plays so that I might get the hang of things? This looks like a great game so I'm not going to give up on it. Later...Dennis

You better not give it up.... If you do.... *shakes fist*

Anyway, G'day!

My name is Daniel, I'm an Aussie (as you can probably tell from my above choice of language), I'm 16, I love computers, I love music more than computers, I hate my music teacher, and I absolutely LOVE Civ.

I started playing the Civ franchise with Civ II but I didn't really know what I was doing. Then when Civ III came around I learned that one good. Now that Civ IV's here I'm loving it. I've bought all the expansions and play FFH II extensively. (Excellent work Kael and team).

I've been lurking the forums for a while now and I've just decided to join now.
