Welcome, Non-namers! MIA offers you shelter here, and, if you desire, citizenship.

The MIA Imperial History thread is a good place to start to understand where MIA has come from, and where we might be going. General_W has done a supreme job of coming up with this turn-by-turn synopsis of our development. Enjoy!

If you have any questions about integration into MIA, please don't hesitate to post in this thread. Any questions about the past should likewise be posted here.

Thoughts, comments, and suggestions about the future (and present) situation of MIA should be confined to the relevant threads. So, build queues are the reign of the Domestic Minister, and should be discussed in his thread; relations with KISS are dealt with in the KISS thread, etc. There are two first-page threads that are decidedly not for just anyone to post in. The "Instructions for the President" thread is just that: where the president (turnplayer) goes to find the orders for executing the turn. Don't post there unless you are a Minister of something - he might get confused ;). Likewise, the "State of the Empire" thread is a complete record of the actions carried out by the president for that turn. It is purely an archival thread.

So dig in, and start asking us questions. Everyone here is very helpful except for me, but that's only because I don't know so much :)

Welcome!! [party]

You may notice that refugees are granted a special status according to our Constitution. Without mentioning any team names, we adopted the amendment regarding refugees quite a while ago in order to prevent idiotic teams with a lot more actives than we have from imposing their anarchy upon us through force of numbers.

As the current MIA President, any refugee who desires naturalized status will be sponsored by me without hesitation.

hmmm sponsorship ... well the very act of sending gold ahead has pathed the way to citizenship very favourably indeed.

Can't wait to hear all your stories over a glass of fine wine :D

btw ... welcome lost civantares the first to join us

Chatted to Donsig he will probably join us (he is away from home atm)
... he did mention that BCLG100 will move to KISS
... he also suggested that not many (if any) will take up with those double dealing dishonourable donuts.

Thank you very much for your warm welcome, it is an honor to be the the first to be the first former TNTian to post and become part of Team MIA.

Greeting MIA and thank you for the kind reception. I hope to be a valuable member of your team and hope with the combined minds of MIA and TNT, we can ensure a Missing In Action victory. :)

btw, BCLG told me once that he knew a bunch of the people on KISS before he joined the game and that he was going to join KISS once we lost.

i can try to convince a few inactives from former TNT to join MIA, but i don't know how much help they will be.

Welcome Home Gentlemen!

Don't hesitate to ask any questions - we're all happy to have you on board.

Once natualized is there any requirements? I will do the best that I can, but I haven't played civ3 in many months (civ4 has really been enjoyable to me :D ), but I will so the best that I can do if anything is needed.:)

well, after a quick read of the MIA Imperial History and a quick glance at your constitution, i'd like to request that President Chamnix sponser me to become a natrualized citizen.

No requirements at all. When you first join us as a refugee, you cannot vote in our elections (we were afraid of being overwhelmed by refugees from a team with lots of actives ). Being naturalized just grants you the right to vote and run for office but adds no responsibilities - just have fun and participate as much as you want.

I would be pleased to sponsor both of you for Naturalized Citizen status.

Hey, There is one burning question I'd like to ask of our newest citizens…

Where there still many KISS units in your lands when the Doughnuts finally destroyed you?
Or did the KISS units retreat long before that?

We're trying to make some guesses on what kind of army KISS may have when we move to attack them.

(I believe the rules were never amended to prevent sharing this information. If I'm mistaken, please let me know.)

Any help you can give us will be of great value!
:salute:

IIRC ... the game's rules were ammended to restrict all refugee information to come from memory alone ... this is why TNT is now locked until the end of the game.

Question for the Refugees ... Do the Nutters or KISS have any armies ?!!

Regarding the refugee leakage ... KISS therefore will know that we have secretly supported TNT with Iron and received a gold gift :D

I hope no-one joins the Nutters

Acording to rule set:
Description: Upon joining a new team, you are not allowed to give out spoiler info to your new team that the new team you are on would not know about if you had not joined. If you have to give out spoiler info to prove your case, then do not post / vote in the thread.
So unless RegentMan or Ginger_Ale says it's fine to tell the story of what's left at the fatal battlefiels, I can't say, sorry. :(

I would love to be sponsered then, and requite my duties to the best of my abilities to my new team :) (I severely doubt that you will be overwhelmed with new people from TNT. )

That is the exact copy of the rules in the rule thread, I'll look in the discussion thread about refugees.

Edit:

The Amendment:
0.3.1 - Membership retention after Defeat

Description: Upon defeat, members of the defeated team lose access to their native forum. They are allowed to join the team that conquered them, if the team will have them. They may also join neighboring teams that they had contact with at the time of their defeat.

Again I'd love to be able to help my team, MIA, but I plain can't, not until it's shown that I can.

Ok – nuts.

We should have asked you before team TNT died… it would have been legal to find out just 1 turn ago!

EDIT: @Fe & Regent Man - I hope the answer is "no"! If finding out about the location of KISS units is "spoiler" then any diplomatic deals must certainly be "spoiler" info also.
