Just wondering how many people have downloaded the new version and could load it up successfully? And how many people have problem with the new version?
I loaded it up okay but haven't really sat down and played it.
By the way, what did you have to do to get your scenarios to work? I've tried making scenarios work with RevDCM before and failed.

For Revolution.ini pop-up, do I rename GEM to RevDCM? Or do I actually copy over, and overwrite RevDCM? I'm confused because I installed the GEM and it loaded fine in Vista (How weird is that but I suspect it is because when I dualbooted with windows xp, it said its ram was 2.75 gb ram but I have 3 gb ram. Like I said: weird) but that revolution.ini error showed up and I read about parallel directory. I'm confused. Can you give play-by-play on how to do that to fix that error?
Thanks.![]()
Well, it would depend on if you already have RevDCM installed as a standalone mod. I don't and the only Mod I have (other than the built-in ones) is GEM. The problem seems to be that GEM looks for the RevDCM.ini (or RevolutionDCM, I can't remember) in the wrong directory. The file in the GEM directory but the pop-up looks in ...Mods/RevDCM/. To make it work just make the directory its looking for and copy the RevDCM.ini in the GEM folder to the RevDCM folder and the pop-up will go away and you will have the intended settings for RevDCM.
If you have RevDCM installed already I would just make a backup of the .ini file in that directory and copy over the GEM version. Then you can just switch between the two if your playing a normal RevDCM game.
OH! You mean I make a new folder named RevDCM, then copy Rev.ini from GEM to RevDCM "fake" folder? Ok, I will try that. Thanks for clarifying it.

couldn't you just go into worldbuilder at the start of the game and remove all the other civs?
I could if I knew how. Can you give me step-by-step on how to remove civs from my game?
Thank you.

As said above,
1. Start your game--that is, finish your FIRST turn to the point JUST BEFORE you press the red button.
2. Open the options mention.
3. Find "Enter Worldbuilder"
4. Click on this and wait while the map you are currently playing loads.
5. When it loads you will see two windows on either side of the screen as well as the entire map with ALL civs and resources visible.
6. On the screen on the right there will be eight boxes. By rolling over each one you can read what it does(btw, this is the place where you can modify just about every aspect of the game, including not only complete map alterations, but scenerio-building).
7. Click on(if not already, though it should be) the second option on the bottom counting from the left. You'll know you have it if a small gold window with a leader name is under this eight-part window.
8. Using the mini-map, which will show where every Civ is starting, move the green square over those units you want to delete and RIGHT-CLICK on them.
9. In the case of cities you want to erase, click on the button(of the eight on the right side screen) that is the second from the left on the top. This is the Erase button. Simply LEFT or RIGHT click on whichever city you want erased.
10. These steps should eliminate any civ you don't want on a given map. NOTE: This same method is used to actually MOVE civs from one area to another--i.e., some world maps start Russia at St. Petersburg locale instead of Moscow. This is done by opening the Leader window, which will drop down to show all the leaders of the civs active for that map. The screen on the opposite side will show ALL of the units you can build, in which case you simply select which ones you want to put on which square, BUT be careful that the Leader you select is correct before you place the unit, otherwise you will be mixing civs on a single square inadvertantly. Play around with the worldbuilder for awhile and you'll be suprised at what you can do.(BTW, again, I often do this to remove white colonies from Australia and the New World on world maps--my little tick, I guess)
Likewise, you need not save(there's a button for this) the map and restart, as you can press the LAST button on the top from the left and simply "Exit Worldbuilder" back into your game with the offending civs neatly done away with. NOTE: If you save your game at this point, you can give a name that will remind you that this is your preferred setting OR you can save the worldbuilder map itself before you exit. Either one will keep all of the changes you've made.
9. In the case of cities you want to erase, click on the button(of the eight on the right side screen) that is the second from the left on the top. This is the Erase button. Simply LEFT or RIGHT click on whichever city you want erased.
it's better to click on the buildings tab in the top left and then right click the ciity as this destroys the city whereas the erase button destroys everything on the tile, including recources and rivers.
