WH-02 The Great Game-Warhorses Jump the Fence

somewhere up there, lost in the colors, was a question about which wonder goes where.

if I got it correct, here's a cleaned up map:
Civ4ScreenShot0011.JPG
I don't know why, but the map dropped some resource icons when I removed the interface. I noted their places in relation to red.

blue is one north of mauve

igor throws the bones and votes for blue then red, chopping the wall in blue and the oracle in the capitol.

I vote for the power of pink dot.

I'll play this later on the train. Expect a report to be up by 11:30 PM; GMT +2.

I'd also prefer the pink spot since it picks up a lot of forest free tiles which might indicate yet hidden ressources! The BFC interlock is better, too. That makes it 2 votes for pink and 2 for blue. :hmm:
As for the wonders I'll stick with igor's bones. ;)

I do believe that pink (the one in your pic) is the site I proposed, so thats 3 vs 2.

I am going to vote against the wall in city 2 and the Oracle in the capitol.

@ g-man - I don't believe so.

Grahamiam, I've been playing under 3.02. No problem there.

Bede, I didn't get your post before I played my turns, so the wall has been started upon in Gondar.

Report is coming ...

Gondar.jpg

Gondar: >> The Great Wall

Turn 06

The silver is mined!

We've met Wahsington. In the North.

Washington.jpg

Well, I've vetoed Pottery to go the religious route and get the Oracle. Also mysticism unlocks our UU, the Stele.

Turn 08

On the IBT we've met the founder of hinduism in the north, too:

Ramesses.jpg

Turn 09

:coffee:

Turn 10

Gondars borders popped. Else ... :coffee:

Notes for the next player

Like mentioned before I went with "Pink Floyyd" in Gondar and possibly the Oracle in aksum. The road is being built towards the marble. So one worker is busy in our capital and the other one has just arrived on the forest north of Gondar to chop it.

I've been running 80% Science since Gondar has been settled to have some cash - we're currently gaining +1 gpt - in case of events.

Maps

North

South

Note that in the North you can see Ramesses' borders. And what I only figured from the screenie of the south - went back into the game to verify - there are byzantine borders just south!!! We haven't met Justinian yet, though.

Best wishes from Ethiopia

After the archer, I'd like another settler to secure the spot to the S with all the deers. Also, looking at the cow area, there seems to be some very good possibilities up there for a shield heavy town.

Also, I got it but won't play till either later tonight or tomorrow night.

:scan: Where is the save? :scan:

We have another Tomoyo on our hands, it's in the last postcard

Yes, it's in the postcard! ;)

Another Tomoyo?

:help: Please enlighten me! :help:

Tomoyo is a poster at CFC who always hid his saves behind something like a picture or exclaimation point.

Will we have enough time to get a town up there before Ramses expands?

Preflight check: Looks ok. We have 2 warriors, 2 workers. Myst in 2T, apparently to go after Oracle. Not sure I agree that Pottery would not have been fine first, and our Unique Building is not very useful atm, but I'll keep on with the shortest path to Priesthood so this redirect has the least impact.

Turn 1: 2360 BC Worker near aksum starts quarry, worker near Condor starts prechop.

IBT: Meet Carthage(Hannibal) via Northern Scout; Myst -> Meditation (8T); askum archer -> archer (till size 4)

Turn 2: 2320 BC Scout skirts southern Ramses border

Turn 3: 2280 BC Chopped finished near Gondar (sorry, should have stopped it with 2T to go :( )

IBT: Judaism founded somewhere else

Turn 4: 2240 BC Worker near Gondor moves 2T south for another chop, Switch askum to Settler

IBT: Ramsesses adoptes OR, BTS crashes when I tried to click on the log :(

Turn 5: 2200 BC Scout continues scouting, worker starts chopping near Gondor

Turn 6: 2160 BC Scout finds the American's borders. Worker stops chopping and I note the tile. Quarry is done. Warrior from askum heads S for the next city site

IBT: Meet the Byzantines (Justinian), say hi

Turn 7: 2120 BC Scout scouts. Worker on Quarry roads, while worker near Gondor moves to next forest tile to prechop.

IBT: forest regrows where it was chopped near Gondor :)

Turn 8: 2080 BC Oops, that was Marble near askot, not stone, so no need to prechop

IBT: meditation -> Priesthood

Turn 9: 2040 BC Scout spots barb archer near American borders, then meets the Chinese (Qin Shi Huang). Worker near Askum moves S to connect the city to the river.

IBT: Carthage researchers are rumored to have made a breakthru, while Floods have hit near Shanghai

Turn 10: 2000 BC I fortify the warrior on the hill. It's 2T of movement from the settler being built in Askum. Scout finds Chinese borders, worker near Askum starts roading to the river.

18T tile GWall done in Gondor, Settler from Askum due in 4T, Priesthood due in 5T

Surrounded by enemies and we have a wall and the sea at our backs - what could be better.

Let's keep settling until we run down to 60% science.

Any opinions on where to aim our Espionage budget?
