What are the best National Wonder combos?

I usually end up pairing Oxford and National Epic in my capitol as it tends to have the most wonders and research; Wall Street goes in a shrine city so it can end up pairing with a lot of things; Heroic Epic, West Point and Red Cross usually end up in two cities; National Park and Globe Theatre seems like a potentially fascinating combination; I tend to put Ironworks in an average production location on Normal/Quick because of diminishing returns, but on Epic/Marathon I sometimes put it in a much more productive city. Pairing Ironworks with National Park also seems fascinating...

Why does anyone pair Globe Theatre with National Park? Forest preserves produce happiness so this city already has happiness to burn.

i was thinking about it, to run more artists without caste. my ideal stack of doom includes a GA to bring the city out of revolt and give insta-culture defense. well, make that includeD, until i read that they don't do that in BtS :(. i only got BtS a few days ago, finished my first game today.

i can tell i'll be heading to biology faster now. i don't like sushi irl but in civ4, oh baybee! so red cross comes up as an option quite a bit earlier for me than it did in vanilla/warlords.

globe/red cross is pretty spiffy if you aren't putting globe with NE for one uber GP farm (which i don't tend to do). put an airport in there, constant flow of reinforcements or defenders for captured cities that can heal some of the injured, while your main force (and medic3) keep pushing forward.

i had red cross/west point in this game. i didn't war early so i didn't bother to build heroic epic by the time mil trad came around. i like the combo, but part of me is like "shucks, building a tank here wastes red cross waaaaaaaah." but it was completely awesome for the cavs i wanted to be my medic choppers before gunships (which can't get medic at all) came around. and seriously, by that time i had railroads, i wouldn't get as much benefit from HE as you do early.

my favorite city in this game is my double shrine/double corp HQ. wowsa! i am completely loving national park. add in that i'm a total OCC addict for which it will be amazing.

i can't remember the last time i put wall street and oxford together. well, non-OCC i mean. i always have a shrine at some point, and to me the point of wall street is to make gold even with my slider set to 0% gold. shrines (and now corporations) are the best way to do that, since they don't depend on commerce at all. oxford, obviously, you do want in a commerce city, but wall street is fundamentally different. often i end up with GLib/oxford/national epic in my capital. now that i can't save the artists that sometimes pop from that for wartime duty, i'll really love the improved BtS golden ages won't i?

I know it's not national wonders, but I like to combine Hermitage with as many of Broadway/Rock N Roll/Hollywood as possible into a super culture city.

For some reason I usually struggle to get the early wonders, but I almost always get at least 2 of those, if not all 3!

Question is, what would you want with a (single) super-culture-city?

Sera

A good question. The only use for it I can think of is to culture-flip tiles and maybe a city from a neighbour that you don't want to attack for some reason.

Unless it's your #3 city for a culture win and it's really lagging behind, I guess.

Best combo? Hmmm Shakespear's theater along Heroic Epic. Think about it. you can draft and make units at the same time in the same city.

Uh oh? CivNoobie is shifting towards necrophiliac scat. :spank: (seriously, who's the dude who makes that weirdo smiley of a masochistic spankey?)
