^I doubt any young/healthy person regards that as true, that 'the goal of technology is the end of death'.
More healthy would be that the goal of any development should be making life easier/better/more enjoyable. Death itself always was part of human life, and it will remain so, unless in some scenario where humans are at most a few million and leach off resources to vampire everything around
