i few months ago, august i think, i ordered some goods online from a website. it was an international order as i'm from the UK and ordered from a US site.

the goods still havent arrived, and it seems other people who have made international orders are in the same situation.

i've emailed them several times, asking what's happened, and most recently, asking for the money to be refunded.

no reply.

i payed through paypal but unfortunately i cannot file a claim as the transaction was more than 45 days ago.

i plan on writing a formal letter requesting that the money be refunded, but apart from that, who can i go to? the FBI?

First spread the word which webstore it is, so other people don't fall victim.

I don't know what you can do though. Sending that formal letter won't do much I guess, but it is worth a try. Usually the police doesn't do much about internet scams.

Call your credit card company, see if they'll stump up the cash.

He said he used PayPal, so a Credit Card is not needed.

I'm not sure what you can do, but you should tell people about this. Also how much money was it, if it was 'alot' then try to get the cops on their case.

I use paypal, it uses my credit card.

The transaction which was made between the two was between 2 paypal accounts, there is nothing the cc company can do about it. I'd say read the privacy policy of paypal, maybe your answer is in there.

lp, how do you know what kind of paypal transaction it was?

if I use my paypal to pay for ebay, they can trace the account of the recipient, and they can even, if i get a court title, cancel that transaction.

So, btw, can the credit card company.

This is true in germany, I do not know about the weird US banking laws though.

Germany? Arent you mexican? ;)

Anyway for the future - if you are unsure about the site, dont pay in advance.

Paypal can pull the payment back if you can show you've been ripped off.

Do like Maddox and inflict thousands of dollars worth of damages on them. Legally. :D
