What difficulty level is the lowest you have beaten?

Just to poll something weird, what is the lowest difficulty level you've beaten? I started on warlord in vanilla, so I've never beaten chieftain or settler

Actually, it does above noble. But in Vanilla i won on settler in first game (to much new stuff!), but now in BTS i play on noble.

me too, I usually play on noble or prince but my first game I played on settler. Needless to say, I owned.

I beat the tutorial with a praet "rush." I think that counts as settler.

I had plenty of experience from other civ games so I started out on Prince, played a few halfway through that were too easy, then began playing everything on Monarch where I got my first full win.

I started on Warlord back then, I think. But recently I actually played my first Settler game... the challenge was of course to win before 1 AD, which was easily accomplished

As I never played a civ game before, I actually had problems with settler. Well, I dind't read the manual just started a new game and was like WTH am I suposed to do here? What if I select that settler and press the delete?

IIRC i finished/won game on settler when i wanted to see how easy it would be.

It seems some people started on Monarch too, with a totally new game thats pretty sick

I started Civ IV Vanilla on Noble, but I'd been playing the series in general since Civ I, so I didn't really feel the need to try easier difficulties.

Of course that doesn't make me teh 1337ness... cause nowadays I play Civ IV BTS on Monarch, so obviously I've still got a lot of learning to do.

Oops; misread the question and answered with the HIGHEST I had beaten, at Noble... but, now that I think of it, I don't think I finished games less than that for BtS (just played early-to-midgame to get the feel), so Noble may be the lowest I've beaten, too!

(Sigh!) Someday, when I feel I'm winning more than about 50%, I'll try prince...

My first game on civ4 was monarch, i considered myself a good player, but the new stuff on civ4 was really unexpected, anyways i push my self into 3 more games until i adapted to all new features. I think i lost first 2 games but finally won 3th one. It was a fantastic (that i cant not remember, but i know it was ) After that i tried Emperor difficulty but the difference was so big, i didnt manage to compete against AI, and i did notice AI cheat so bad after that level. Anyways i am still playing at monarch and i win 95%+ of games (if i survive the barb rush) I play economic leader mostly, on giant - fractal games with agressive AI. I think i really should start moving to Emperor now.

I think my first few games were on Chieftain, but there was a Gauntlet at Settler difficulty, so I have wins on everything up to and including Prince.
