BTW maybe the avatar would have more impact with a transparent background?

I generally have more respect for people that have good looking Avatars (don't know why). CGannon64, I agree with other Spile was much cooler than Dick.

Edit: Wow, just as I posted you change it. Can't make it out, but it is still better than Dick.

I've had the same avatar for a year and a half now... quite a long time with the cheery festive theme

I like people who keep their avatars the same or at least similar because I seem to identify posters by subconsciously glancing at the avatar while reading. Back when that socialist and RMS both had the partisan, it caused a lot of confusion in my little brain, I can assure you I wish Gannon and Nicator would go back to that anime fellow and Millard Fillmore...

Plus, longterm avatars are all part of building a persona. Just look at the Perfectagon!

I think Perfection changes his avatar too much. I just wander how things he will come up with until he leaves CFC.

Anyway, avatars don't say much to me. Only Darkshade's posts made it look like a hobbit gone evil is talking. No one else can seem to pull off that effect.

The one's with flags seem nationalistic, but that is about it.

Well, my current avatar represents my pride for Canada, so much so that I have "touched" up the flag, taking out that nasty white, added a spiffy new leaf, etc.

And besides, it looks cool!!!

BTW Pont's avatar is very eye-catching despite the slightly grotesque imagery. Instant recognition.

I've also expressed similar points about ID and avatars in Lyonesse's Thread in Computer Talk.

I picked the longbow because I love archers. They are the best archers represented in the game so I feel this was a good choice. I also see an archer as a powerful attacker but fights far away from the battle. This is kind of like me; I like to use powerful words instead of powerful hits. Because this is a Civ forum, I have a Civ avatar. I experimented with something else once, but went back to my original. It's been this one since post one.

I, too, enjoy your avatars Perfection. What'll you think of next?

I chose Mao because he's my hero. Not really but I like playing as China and until I can choose a custom avatar I'll stick with him. Only a couple hundred more messages to go.

Achinz I love the dragon, it's totally sweet. One of my favorites that I've seen though is GrandMasta Nick's, representing the old-school magic cards. It's megacool.
