What do we want from D-Nuts on Saterday?

Full tech alliance (share techs, research cooperatively)
Or a Full Alliance (Military and Tech)

Or for the moment:
Trade Techs for techs
Trade Techs for money
Trade Techs for techs and money
Trade for techs (money or techs)

And then later we can decide on a alliance. I want some ideas soon please. This poll is informational only, not binding.

trading for techs and money would be good, but i will wait till the meeting with D-nut on saturday, with the KISS deal on teh table i cant say for sure (and again being the KISS diplomat i would rather ally with them) can we hold off all of these kind of polls till after the meeting?

I voted for "Trade for Techs" because it's vague.

I'm all in favor of anything we can do to stay at the top of a tech trading pyramid – where our goal is to broker/be involved in every tech deal that happens in the game.

I see tech as being our key to victory.
Full alliance of technology gives away too much of our potential advantage… imho.

But we should not agree to anything long term as yet ... we will pick and choose ... but unfortunately not at our leasure

The other thing to do would be to discuss what sort of deals they are looking for and how loyal they would be ... and how they see the best case scenario happening

I think what will happen is that we vote for one alliance or another ... Oh and have a NO option too

Oh and please send the gift that jbbor created for them before we meet ... upto you however I feel it will be good butter

The Donuts already have writing completed - they are doubtless working on Code of Laws or Philosophy.

Keep in mind the tech costs (thanks classical_hero) - pottery and writing for CB, WC, and BW is a terrible deal from their perspective.

Realistically, we really want Pottery. We should get it from Donuts if we are not going to get it from KISS. Ceremonial Burial for Pottery is an even trade cost-wise, but they will not take it because granaries are much more useful than temples. I think Bronze Working or Warrior Code straight up for Pottery is a reasonable deal for both sides. We can try asking for some gold in addition, but I would make either deal even without gold.

We would like writing. I am still betting that if they are working on Code of Laws now, we will not get writing at any price (and hopefully they will just tell us writing is not on the table instead of wasting time). If they are working on Philosophy, then writing might be available, but it won't be cheap. It will cost at least iron working plus another first tier tech. If writing is available for Iron Working and another tech (preferably Ceremonial Burial), I would take it:

- They are probably not on our continent so they will have iron working well before we could war with them anyway.
- If we don't make a deal for writing, then KISS might, and we would lose our early contact edge.

If we're offering the more valuable tech - trying to get GPT is always a good starting place, but not necessary. However - this is the diplomats job - so I'll leave it to them!

We will have to concrete something before turn save sent to KISS as I strongly believe that D-Nuts will meet them soon ... I wish we had kept tabs on the KISS Warrior :shakehead: ... So how soon will other new friends meet and chat ?

I'm beginning to think that get all the stuff from them that we can but sign NO long term love agreement ...

Be friends with KISS in a revised form and ...

Indicate to D-Nuts that they have stuffed alot of people around and should send a note of absence next time ...
