what do you think the Old Earth Relic *is*?

An original copy of a bug free/well balanced/not rushed released Firaxis Game. I know it's sci-fi...

It's a clone of the CFC forum. The height of human discourse.

;)

Sorry about the previous one, didn't know it was against the rules. My second guess is a bronze statue of Nyan Cat.

I kinda imagine a museum of sorts.

I think the most sensible relic would be: hull plating from the seed ship on display, a bit like Berlin Wall memorial pieces.

Not only are these cheap and available, they also hold immense sentimental value, seeing how these pieces would not only be from Old Earth itself but also memorialise the journey and sacrifices made during early colonisation.

It is already explained in the Civopedia that the OER is typically made up of parts of the spaceship. Certainly makes sense to me.

Hence, why this thread amounted to not being a serious effort to determine or explain what the OER was or is but to have fun with what it may otherwise be. I always thought it was a statuesque pose of Jessica Biel, but yeah....:crazyeye:

I'd say it's exactly what it was in the past games.
An Obelisk, a monument, a giant stone pillar, whatever you wanna call it, I bet its the same.

It's an Old Earth Relic which means it was either brought back from Old Earth, crafted from fragments from an Object from Old Earth, or a Historical Landmark created in honor or memory of their journey or old homes. What I imagine is a small but big sheltered Marble Pillar with an inscribed message on it either telling the story of their journey to this new world or something perhaps similar to that. Try something like this

But Small and under a nice awning and with words carved in it perhaps

Holy gianormous plallus batman!

I think it's the complete collection of leaked "The Fappening" pictures and vids as some sort of exhibition, to remind humanity of its idiocy.

As for the old earth relic, you would think that in accordance to the affinities, they would be ignored and probably removed in harmony societies. In purity societies, they would emphasize the commemoration of their first day on the new planet and they would do it in front of their old earth relic. In supremacy societies, it could be either to commemorate, not people, but how far we came with technology or like harmony it would be ignored.

...or like harmony it would be ignored.
Or, in Harmony, it serves as warning what happens if you ignore the ecology of your home planet and why it's better to, well, live in harmony with the native ecosystem.

All affinities are reactions to the Great Mistake and the Seeding, it's just a different interpretation in every case.

My interpretation would be animals cloned from DNA taken from Earth and exhibited in zoos and the like. I can't see it being a classic car or something that would need to be transported.
