What exactly is "Natural Selection"?

So now deformities prove evolution. I always thought the opposite was true. :crazyeye: Often Hox genes are considered serious that often miscarriage occurs and the process of natural selection removes this gene from the gene pool because it is considered dangerous.
Forgive me for being blunt, but you're not within shouting distance of a clue what you are talking about. Learn something about Hox genes before you continue to make a fool of yourself.

Incidentally, there has not been any hox gene duplications in the lineage leading to humans for quite some time. Presumably, the system is by now to complex to survive that sort of of crude modifictions

Just come across this thread - quite a fun read.

I think Sophie, TLC and Mr Blonde are due a major :hatsoff: - you clearly understand your subject, and (IMHO) are explaining and arguing it very well in face of what appears to be a high degree of dogmatism linked to an almost complete lack of knowledge of the subject under discussion.

c_h & zany - you do realise, don't you, that evolution neither proves nor disproves the existence of God, and that it is possible to be a Christian and to accept evolution ? Sometimes here it feels like you're arguing so strongly, on such lousy grounds, that it must be because you feel that support for evolution equates to an attack on God.
