What Game Speed do you play on?

I feel like so much is lost when I play on anything besides marathon or epic. On the faster speed games units go obsolete by the time I get them to the front line and sometimes twice removed from the current tech level. Stuff builds too quickly. See the enemy 3 tiles away? No problem you can build a wall and maybe a unit before they get there......

Depends on the type of game I want. I usually play cutural or science victory and I dislike moving tons of stuff around all the time, so I usually play on quick.

Epic. Sometime in Civ4 or 5 I switched to it from marathon speed.

Marathon 95% of the time.

Online. I get bored on other speeds :p

However i liked a lot the mod "real marathon", where the military units were a lot cheaper than in standard marathon. That allowed better warfare and general feeling.
Does that mod still work with GS?

I play on standard but I have been considering trying marathon with a revised ruleset, like the aforementioned mod with faster unit build times. Kind of miss the large-scale conflicts from Alpha Centauri in the mid to late game. :)

Standard.
I used to play on marathon in Civ IV but found it glacial in V and haven't really tried it in VI.
If there were ways to boost production as much as you could late game in previous games I might be more inclined to do so.
I guess I still haven't fully adapted to chopping/buying having replaced building as the most efficient means of production.

edit: Although I guess a lot of people would say whipping was the most effective form of production in IV. I didn't use that much either.

I always play on standard in Civ 6. In Civ 4 I always played on epic and in Civ 5 I used to rotate between standard and epic, but in general games take longer in Civ 6 since there is more to do every turn due to the active research system, policy card micromanagement and a bit longer turn times in general. So epic games tend to get a bit boring for me before they finish in Civ 6. Standard ones keep a more reasonable time frame. I mean the early game is always the most fun part of every Civ game anyway so I'd rather not linger longer than necessary on the endgame part of it

Lately I feel there is nothing gained by playing on epic over normal speed. The only reason I play epic is if I plan on extensive warfare. Yeah I realize this gives me the advantage, but I want to experience the warmongering civs in their fullest. If I'm playing peaceful, normal seems better.

Epic.

Normal. It seems to me like longer speeds is a fake drawing-out of the game. It's not like you're REALLY doing more it just takes longer.
Wars make the biggest difference with longer speeds. You can't replace units as fast.
